No country should possess weapons that can undoubtedly kill and maim civilians. Nukes are not capable of precise bombings, they are designed to inflict widespread destruction and killing.

Our bombing had already destroyed most of the military infrastructure that conventional or nuclear bombing could destroy. Even with this being a fact the generals did not want to surrender. Even after the nukes the generals did not want to surrender but the nukes gave the emperor the leverage he need to force them to allow him to surrender. Saving millions of people.

If you look at deaths from war up to 1945 you will see an exponential curve. Each war getting more brutal and costly in terms of human life. After 1945 the deaths from war drop dramatically and level off around 2 million a year. Those two bombs saved many people thew the years.
