The video is sent to a PC via a cable know as Firewire, i.link or ieee 1394. The pc has a firewire card fitted to a spare isa slot. All the capture and editing is done with Microsoft Movie Maker.
The quality is standard definition. The viewing resolution depends on how you watch it. Avoid large lcd t.v. Yes youtube res is low but that was done to upload quickly and watch it with out buffering pauses. All my videos are done on microsofts movie maker, using a firewire card.

Thanks for your comment.
The cam works best when on a tripod as high zoom is almost impossible to keep still.
clarkgore 2 years ago
Okay. I buy that tripod too! ;)
Is quality better when editing? I mean that youtube maybe eats quality...
Sorry my bad english!

Thank you very much for information!
I can't select, which one: Sony DCR HC-52 or Sony DCR SX20...
:P
FINgameGuy 2 years ago
@FINgameGuy
I picked the dcr hc-51 because
1. Price (Ebay used £65)
2. Mini dv tape (easy to down load to pc)
3. A viewfinder ( In bright sunlight an lcd screen is almost impossible to see).
The Sony DCR SX20 did you mean SX30.
The SX30 records to flash memory not tape, dont know much about it. Other than it has no viewfinder.
A feature i did pick up on with some flash memory camcorders was the pre record function check out the Panasonic s26.

Yeah, I mean SX30 ;P
Now I saw Canon FS200. Is that good camera?
