See America HSR looks very doable. Its just GOP/tea party/big oil ideology that gets in the way. Besides one of the stations on the LGV Nord line(Picardie) has direct access to two freeways including the one it runs along between Paris and Belgium/Britain(A1 i believe)

hi ive witnesed this at picardia amasing, ive booked to return from basel in july via strasbourg & the tgv est line 320 kph can you tell much ot a diffrence between the 300 kph eurostar & the 320 kph on the tgv est line.

@zedcell i don't see. the difference of 20 kph is like riding a bicycle at 20 kph on train of 300kph. it is minor change of only 6.25%.

You almost cpatured the entire fleet. A few eurostars, some TGV PSE, PBKA Thayls looks good, SNCE and Thayls Resesu sets, an ICE multiple unit, 3:20 a TGV Altantique, 3:23 three TGV POS very nice looking trains, but no Duplex at all.

both are good. on Haute-Picardie are more types of trains (Eurostar, all Franch TGVs & Thalys). But Champagne-Ardenne has ICE-3 few times a day & trains pass faster (320km/h), but less train a day.

Few weeks ago I hiked along LGV-Est from Champagne-Ardenne & back. It was nice but too hot to enjoy (there is development of new highway near the station. you can walk on it...

btw: there is less trains on Sundays...
