My grandmother bought her Legacy at Courtesy Subaru in Kingsport. I learned to drive stick in her Subaru, actually. East Tennessee was a different world back then. She probably saw a commercial like this on her giant satellite dish b/c decent cable wasn't even available where she lived until the mid-90s. Tri-Cities didn't even have the WalMart Supercenters, yet, and the major highways weren't completed so moving around the TriCities took hours. Backy farmers and moonshiners ran TC back then.
Very nice post dude. Audi changed everything with the Quattro and brought Int'l rallying to the forefront of racing in the 80s. Now they pitch that heritage to office managers and doctors. What a waste. The commercials are a nice touch too. I tend to think that keeping the commercials in these old taped vids will become something of an archive.
There are some seriously fucked up moments in the history of racing.
Look it's Chaparral with his brilliant "vacum car" raping McLaren in the Can-Am series, I know let's ban the crap out of them.
Oh Audi is dominating the other teams because it has quattro, hmmm we can't do shit so let' s do what we did to Chaparral mwuahahaha...

Can you imagine every local commercial like that? Every dealer had the same kind of spot thru the 80's. That guy got a lot of voice over work...

@57StatesofAmerica I dunno. They DID have an 80 watt am/fm radio.
NICE

Thanks. I left the commercials is because I'm lazy.
Well, not really... they give an idea of when the video was made.
