you dont have to give your snake the maximum size meal it can handle every time. i try to mix it up a little bit with my python, rabbits or multiple rats. frankly, watching it eat 2-3 medium sized prey items is more entertaining than watching it eat one large one- which takes much longer to digest anyway

We had to freeze the rats, if I remember correctly (I'm probably not right. It was so long ago... the snake eventually starved to death). She would only eat her food if it was dead.
