  • 2 words...fucking amazing!

  • Best fucking song by pearl jam

  • fuck me! if you listen to this with headphones you can hear at 3:53 at the right ear the crowd singing along with eddie, sounds so awesome!!!

  • Eddie Vedder looks like he needs to pee.

  • @thrillaminute1

    lucky guy :)

    In 1992 I was only 4 :)

  • it on fire here

  • @thrillaminute1 That was a great time for music. It was so eventful. It seemed like every day great music was coming out. So many signature songs and albums from Seattle and the Red Hot Chili Peppers during the late 80s and early 90s. The rap and hip hop scene was really good then, too.

  • Guys, can you help me? Today I heard something about Lollapalooza and RHCP, but don`t know if there is a video of all the songs. To be more accurate , I need the videos or the mp3 files of magic johnson and the song after it - under the bridge. PLS if somebody can help me, I would be very thankful to them! Write me PM if something :S

  • Buckley, Cobain, Morrison, Mercury ect.

and now we have JUSTIN BIEBER, JOE JONAS and other shits like Hannah Montana.

Thank you Lord, that Eddie is STILL ALIVE

  • Reminiscing ...Ahhh the grunge era. Enjoyed Lollapalooza 91 a bit more

  • What's grunge, I can't remember

  • @Eagles1978 So true. Even more so today.

  • muito bom cara, puta que pariu!

  • Crazy-ass eyes....

Can I have that cord jacket please???

  • I wish I was there, except i remember my mom saying that pearl jam brought all the muscle heads to lollapalooza. oh well pearl jam fucking rules no matter what.

  • @thrillaminute1 same here I was 12 and lived right across from the fairgrounds in Bremerton..best times!!

  • @wizard926 ikr... lol = )

  • Rememeber the dude with the Eddie for president sign running around?

  • Awesome performance. Watch the crowd go nuts in the reflection.

  • i wish 90's music was still going i cant stand all this gay rap shit

  • @Stinkfist43 rap existed in the 90`s aswell. They just combined it with the old pop songs and made them semi rap semi RnB, wich mostl stinks, yes.

  • Support local bands and try get the grungey shit in the buisness and tadaa!

  • @Stinkfist43 i know...fuk all the rappers...rock is still awesome ...way better than that shit

  • @Stinkfist43 You got that right. And all the Lady Gaga crap on top of Rap Crap has just ruined music.

  • @34muggsy34 I am more of a songs person as opposed to a genre person, but you are aware that Stone Gossard is a HUGE rap fan in fact one of his favorite rappers is Ice Cube.

  • @MrGossardX I should say that he was because it was an older interview (1994) Guitar Player where he said it.

  • @MrGossardX It seems that you just go from video to video and attempt to correct people with your vast knowledge. Grow up.

  • Then don't listen to it moron. Talk about a hateful bastard.

  • Comment removed

  • @Gmancrap You're just butthurt because you know it's true!

  • That's like your opinion man.

  • @Gmancrap Then stick with your opinion and stop telling what to listen to dumbshit

  • Nah, I'm fine. I'll do what I want when I want.

  • @Gmancrap Same here so don't tell me what to do if you don't want me tell you what to do!

  • Stop being so ignorant and hateful. After all, this song about a boy who killed himself because of people like you?

  • @Gmancrap I don't pick on people for fun. I pick on the people who start shit with me like you are doing now.

  • Fist of all you're not "picking on me". So don't get that through your head. Second, I'll fuck with you as much as I want so you can either deal with it or simply stop replying.

  • @Stinkfist43

youre dumb. Theres some pimpass awesome rap ou th

ere you just gotta find it

  • @turdhole77 not my style of music.

  • @Stinkfist43 I wish I could like this comment twice

  • Saw the 92 at Jones Beach LI. What an incredible lineup. Eddie climbed the scaffolding while the band played. Unreal....

  • best Lola I've been to....wow I think I was 14 yrs old...

  • I was 24 at this concert. I thought I'd died and gone to heaven....you have great taste in music!!

  • GREAT!

  • I'm watching Pearl Jam play one of my favorite tunes of theirs (too many to mention) and I read the comments below mine. All I see is talk about 'hair' and being anti-progressive towards music which, I thought was/is the point of it. Creating something new every time, not sunning around the same old bush while many others before have already pissed on it. Don't get me wrong though, I love to unmeasurable extent good old 90s music BUT I also believe that art (music being a branch of it) moves on.

  • Typo on 'sunning'. Excuse that, it's meant to say *running*. Although, 'sunning' sounds pretty bitching too.;)

  • 04:24 ha ha ha ha ha!!! he accidently falls in the mosh pit and just carries on singing ...CLASSIC!!!!!!!! lol.

  • I was there !

  • I was there in SPAC Saratoga ny

  • I wish I was... not born yet. And they havent come around since i started liking them

  • i was 18 days old

  • I wish that a new "grunge" would come along to eradicate all the garbage that is now. Just like the Seattle heros eradicated hair bands.

  • Yeah, now let us all start such a movement! Boys and girls, grow your hair and start rocking ! ;)

  • Fucking yes! I have hair down to my shoulders and i'm a boy.. but it's pretty rare today..:(

  • The same for me. I can only agree. And some dumbasses even try to insult me because of that. How far have we come since the 90´s...

  • Really really sad..

  • don't cut it!! i've got long ass hair to

  • We need a revival!!!!!! :) We Want the grunge days back!

  • Yes we do! And we want it now! I want my grunge, instantly! ;)

  • dude the 90s ruled man red hot chili peppers in l.a. pearl jam in seattle man that was the best times everyone was cool man

  • friends don't let friends get friends haircuts

  • What?

  • haha it's something that mike inez wrote on his acoustic bass for the alice in chains unplugged show as a message towards metallica when they cut their hair. all the talk about long hair made me think of that. excuse the randomness lol

  • nirvana allice in chains pearl jam :P they all rock..

  • Soundgarden too ;)

  • @ 5.10 mike plays srv guitar. it sounds cool

  • I like how dave gets the right tempo in the second verse.....hahah all good drummers play fast and then slowly adjust...amazing performance

  • I love how you can see the mosh pit and crowd in the back videos..

  • I wonder why Jeff always plays that last bass part slightly different from the studio version. Still, I love it. Pearl Jam never disappoints when playing live :)

And what the hell, nobody talks about Gossard? Look at his style and simple but efective playing, he's awesome! :D

  • Wow this was a month before my 2nd birthday, I can only wish I wasn't a baby at the time to see this.

  • Not only was PJ and Soundgarden there but so were the Chili Peppers. Best festival I've ever been to besides Woodstock 2

  • So it was basically grunge fest 92?

  • Grunge fest 92? Ha, you're funny. Grunge WAS the early nineties, there wasn't anything in comparison.

  • good point

  • And Ministry

  • I got pwned during the Ministry show. Lollapallooza 1992, Montage MT, Avoca PA

  • Love PJ... seen them over 10 times- but never cared for this song much. I remember hearing that Eddie doesn't like it much anymore either. They don't play it as much as you'd think anymore..

  • You're correct, they are tired of it because it got over played on MTV, and Eddie especially was completely against being seen as any better then the average man. Perhaps the main moment that sparked his dislike was when MTV made them perform it at the Music Awards, when they wanted to perform something else. I love the song, but you can't blame Eddie for getting tired of the attention it got.

  • They don't play it much after Kurt died. Ed said it was difficult to play after. Touchy subject.

  • Damn right. He had incredible respect for Kurt. And Kurt had the same for Eddie... just not his band.

  • thanks for pointing that out man ..lol too bad he didnt it would've been cool to have some type of Nirvana/Pearl Jam tour...two of the best in grunge.with two different sounds..would've been great

  • yeah but kurt cobain hated pearl jam's music and would never do that.

  • theres a quote somewhere before kurt died that krist said they would do a tour.

  • hmm maybe but based on what I've read Nirvana was pretty much broken up when kurt killed himself. And although Krist was a member i don't think there's much doubt Kurt was the key writer and the head of the band, so Kurt would've had to OK it which I sorta doubt. But that would've been fucking awesome

  • yeah but it was an interview with both kurt and krist i believe i'll check on it but yeah it would have been

  • this was the day after my second birthday lol xD i wish i could have been as old as i am now back then

  • As do I, then I may have gotten to see them in their prime, Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, the good old Metallica, maybe even Mother Love Bone or the Screaming Trees

  • How bout Nirvana? You tool...

  • And of course Nirvana

  • awesome,thanx:)

  • great quality! was there in jones beach ny '92

  • How true that is Edelien I really hope Live Rock N Roll makes a comeback I am in total disbelief of some of the absolute crap out there like Fag Out Boys and Three Fags Down and that awful band from Canada doing those Citi bank commercials please help us Rock Gods!

  • hey dnt disrespect 3 doors down!!!!!!!!!!!!! there pretty awsome!!!!!!!

but totally agree bout fall out boy!!

  • 3 doors down is not awesome, in fact the word awesome just shows the level you have sunk in this American Idol age of total sheizen!!! Sorry my German is a bit rusty.

  • wow.

  • i was at this show! it was amazing..we got to meet the band later on that day with the exception of eddie!

  • this song is for me a great katarsis.

  • my mom went to the first 2 lollapaloozas! and now i went to 07 with pj and now 08 with rage and nine inch nails. two past time lollapalosers! what a festival!!

  • Wow this was amazing and what is more amazing that people were singin along to it and if im not correct the video for the song came out in 93'

this just shows how great PJ is!

  • 1992.

  • Thanks.

  • the crowd is just moshing throughout the whole song! look at the mirrors behind eddie

  • i was here! man when lolla was a traveling festival they got the best grunge acts. but you didnt know how big theyd be yet. awesome. im going to this years lollapalooza.

  • Awesome! I'm going to this year's too. Wish I couldve went to last years with pearl jam though.

  • you got passes for every day? im just going saturday.

  • Yeah every day. I'm so excited!

  • check out the band swamp.. they grew up in east troy!

  • man, grunge singers are just awesome

  • Sick~! It was so laid back and hot at the same time. The front was about half full. Some people where rocking hard and others where eating pizza. Eddie said something about stealing the next record. Ahead of their time as always... Some dude was walking around with an Eddie Vedder for Pres. T. Great Day At Alpine.

  • gotta love old PJ.

  • Eddie is a great performer. I love your voice and your movements... This guys are awesome!!!

  • Ibanez 12-string bass I believe...a real distinct sound to be sure.

  • hamer 12-string

  • Great Track...

  • miki from lush used to join them onstage for Rockin In The Free World at some of the Lolla shows

  • Man eddie's feelin it

  • Yeah, you don't see people expressing what they feel on stage nowadays anymore. Shows a lot of where we are going.

  • I was on the front row!!!

  • you have to love the natural ed vedder at 03:33

  • Eddies voice, along with kurts back in the day and flyleaf are the only bands/voices i've heard that sound better live. Now nirvana wasn't normally in tune when i saw them, but kurts voice always sounded amazing even when he was high as a kite. Same goes with eddie.

  • eddie's voice never sounds bad, ever.

  • eddie is mad!!!

  • I love how he pantomimes as he sings haha

  • Okay, this Lollapalooza had Soundgarden AND pearl jam, and think what you want about Pearl Jam then or now, this was the only year I can remember when Eddie Vedder was STOKED to be there, he was so happy and present. I saw Tool on the side stage of this event with like 10 people, our jaws were dropped in amazement as I heard "sober" live the first time. If I remember right, the Chili Peppers (Arik Marshall era) were the headlines. Also had ministry this show too. Next year- RAGE & AIC wow

  • wow man,that was a really cool anecdote,Tool with 10 people haha,thanks..

  • I so agree; what a wondrous time in our lives that was, and what amazing music, miss it so. I'll remember lollapalooza 92 for the rest of my life

  • Man, I would give anything to go back to when I was 16 and this music all came rushing at us here in the midwest from little ol Seattle. Music today just doesn't have that kind of raw feel.

  • damn you're so lucky that you got to be 16 when music was this good!!!! i would give ANYTHING to get to be there right now when im 15 because todays music sucks

  • who was 15 in the 60's?

  • well I was there in the biz kids and I can tell you this movement was about one of the best things that ever happened to rock n roll. A part of me has never come back...

  • mad props to you guys for getting how good it was. :-)

  • I live in WI and have even attended shows here. I always imagine what it would have been like to see a show like this there. I hope there is another rock movment like this soon....

  • best band with such incredible lyrics to match. Eddie is an unbelievable writer.

  • yeah i agree to an extent i saw them in 2006 and they had a pretty damn good sound, but besides maybe the last few songs it kinda seemed they had lost a bit of intensity. it might have just been that night, even though they were still awesome as i think maybe age is just kinda getting to them, and the fact they have been a band for so long maybe they need a little break. anyway they are still in my top 5 bands of all time

  • he acts the song.

    great exit, too, Mr. Vedder.

  • I'm confused.. did he just fall off the stage??? lol.

  • yea, It seems he fell.. I guess he tripped over those wires while headbanging.. :D it turned out cool though..

  • dont wanan sound like a dolt, but who is the guy with the black shirt& shorts with the short hair near Vedder?

  • Stone Gossard.

  • thanks, homeboy

  • my name is jeremy.

  • you and 1 million other people

  • and more...

  • and some more

  • a litle bit more

  • I love the part at 4:25

    So much emotion!

  • wow look at the idiot who commented under me. Music is music you dumb fuck, in 92 the hip hop scene was amazing as was the rock. Learn to appreciate good music you moron. Now its all about commercial rap, there's a difference between that and hip hop. Go learn something.

  • nineties were an AMAZING time in music..it really was..its a shame i was born then..so i didnt really get to experience it whilst it was happening..but i can now..

  • yeah!

  • Tool as in the band? if so one of the best metal bands ever...

  • Pearl Jam is just inbeilevable, there songs are so inspiring. When just sitting in your room at 2 in the morning, not looking forward to anything else in life, you just turn on Yellow Ledbetter and out of no where, it seems like life's worth living. Incredible. Pearl Jams music is the most inspirational music ever created and no other band will surface and make they mark they alread made on the hearts of millions of people

  • tool is the best band of the nineties but pearl jam is the best band of grunge.

  • who the fuck is tool?

  • you nothing about the 90's if you don't know who tool is...

  • Why is Limp Bizkit even being mentioned??? And Pink Floyd WERE great back then. Pearl Jam is now and they personified the 90's generation. They are the BIG band of this era of Rock.

  • yeah nowa days its all about rap.......

  • limp basket sucks!they are very far from pearl jams music!!!!!!!!!!

  • Pearl Jam is still Alive asshole!

  • But do they deserve to be?

    And if so, who answers?

    WHO ANSWERS

  • limp bizkit apestan!!! crap

  • The best band in the world..

  • best band ever, end of story.

  • Vedder!!!

  • goddamn, eddie used to act like that every night, every song. pearl jam is better now.

  • 102 reason the 90,s ruled

  • The early to mid 90's ruled. The late 90's sucked - boy bands, teen pop queens, Limp Bizkit, etc...

  • So making a movie soundtrack makes you good?? I saw the other performances and their brand of teenage macho frat boy rap rock sux more than all the boy bands put together. Where are they now???

  • I was at this show, just incredible.
