what if i don't have that wrist wrap thing? will the static electricity 100% damage my cpu and other components? will my cpu fail once i touch it without wrist wrap? is it necessary to have the wrist wrap? is there any other way to touch the cpu without damaging it with my static electricity? and does the fan also gets damaged by Static Electricity? thank you
@wassimzombi is recommended but discharging static will do the trick :o. Go to a near sink or a metal pipe that goes down to the ground and touch the pipe.. not the faucet. and you will discharge your static. Then again for extra safety you use those wristbands. So avoid things like rub against carpet, fabric or pikachus which will generate static fairly easy.hope the tip helps :)
@wassimzombi They range from 4 to 10 dollars, they arent that expensive since is just a pice of rubber with a wire that touches your skin and the computer case all made to look pretty :P. try looking on ebay or amazon youll find loads of options or if you don't generallt buy online I am sure your local Radioshack will have some "Anti-static wristband" :)
Hi, nice video but I have a little problem and I hope you can help me.
I cannot remove my CPU fan becouse it does not have typical screws and I cannot remove it with a screwdriver, fan has some black untyipical screws like plus sign. Do you have any idea how can I unscrew my fan!?
The whole grounding thing is WAY over done..... Unless your building a computer while sliding across carpet, this shouldn't help anything. I have touched HUNDREDS of components without any protection & have never wreaked any for grounding/static reasons.
@pcoffensive hello, i cleaned the heatsink the process, now when I start my pc it turns off for some reason, after a while, about 2-3 minutes, also when I launch a simple game it immideatly turnes off

@01EthanSpitzer Did you add thermal paste? And if you did make sure you put a pea sized amount on and spread it.

@Simplistic7SalvatioN Buy an aftermarket cooler ^^
basbas63 9 months ago
@Simplistic7SalvatioN And the cooler is loud, not the CPU. ^^
basbas63 9 months ago
@Simplistic7SalvatioN Probably, if there is a lot of dust blocking the air the fan is going to spin harder because the temps go up.
