I am joking in the sense that I said that I agree that "Pepper is awesome." I like Pepper, they do groove hard, and have a lot of catchy songs, but they definitely co-opted Sublime's sound to an extent.

The only people who can't tell the difference only know Sublime for there self-titled release that came out after Bradley died. Half them probably don't even realize that the chorus to "What I Got," that all the frat boys sing together is actually a Half Pint song called "Loving"

They had punk influence as did most bands coming from Cali in the early 90's, but your statement about half pint totally counters your original statemement of them being "dirty punk" which they certainly werent. They were a fusion of punk, ska, reggae, and latin rock. Brad even says it in an interview on "everything under the sun"

@fishbone3333 I can agree with you to that extent. There are always so many people bitching on videos of Pepper songs about how they sound just like Sublime. They do have a heavy and apparent influence from Sublime; but it's also obvious that the bands are two completely separate entities.

@FlaminGerbil They sound completely different from each other. Sublime were one of the dirtiest PUNK bands ever. Pepper is not a punk band. Their a pop band. The only people who can't tell the difference only know Sublime for there self-titled release that came out after Bradley died. Half them probably don't even realize that the chorus to "What I Got," that all the frat boys sing together is actually a Half Pint song called "Loving"

@SnollaSnax Sublime wasn't one of the "dirtiest punk bands ever" they werent even really punk. They had punk influence as did most bands coming from Cali in the early 90's, but your statement about half pint totally counters your original statemement of them being "dirty punk" which they certainly werent. They were a fusion of punk, ska, reggae, and latin rock. Brad even says it in an interview on "everything under the sun"
