As the dad was in the grass-hopper truck and the blue flowers were growing behind him, here is how the made the scene for that:The just put ONE big blue flower and a bunch of mirrors aroung it to reflect small flowers. That's it.I hope people didn't actually think that they made ALL those flowers.
as Bobzeaux says, the fog is live action. They used dry ice to create the fog and sprayed compressed air to create the feeling that Coraline and Wybie were moving the fog. Then once they filmed that, the rest of the movie was layered onto it.
It was made in stop motion, but they're not robots. They're skeletal figures that can bend and twist. The hair is hand made and hand painted, the clothes are hand-knitted, the settings were all hand made, etc.
lol, people often tell me that when they read my comments. this isn't the only song i've quoted check bobinsky, wybie, or the other father song. even more than that
Everything about this movie is so brilliantly done it didn't wrap around my head the first time I saw it. I was just sort of in awe. But this is one of my favorite parts. Especially when he goes, "Daughter in distress!" and cuts her the flowers. Very cute.
Henry Selick and Neil Gaiman aren't gonna make another movie of Coraline. Coraline is as good as it is, it doesn't need a sequel. Atleast that what they sad.
this makes you happy and think wow this is amazing but its sad at the end when it seems happy and coralines finaly free you know what happens at the end:(
yer its just no one listens to her and she goes there and evry one loves her then its all fake and just the music sounds so nice and happy then in the end its just the other mother making it so she can eat her lol..
The violin-esque music at 0:09 was a nice touch, like it personified that plants really could awaken at your presence. And the chimes, like those plants were blinking away dormancy to first see Coraline. 0:40 had a laid-back "twang" to it, no different than savoring the morning/night in that scene. Further on, the music just seems to nocturnally rush into a new "day" like it were a botanic city of a garden. 1:04 was like a fanfare for the flora.
tht was a truly magical movie... whenever u hear the music like this, u know something's gonn turn on her L8r in the film, yet its magical, beautiful, and hypnotizing @ the same time.....

Good point, I hadn't really thought of that. It's fun thinking up the possible answers to those questions though. But making a movie of it might not be the best idea. On reflection, I don't really think it'd work out as well as I originally thought. Coraline is a strong enough movie to stand on it's own.
