dude this was when i was born my dad got the tape this concert made me want to play the drums haha we were broke tho so i only got a little drum pad set
i always thought chester thompson was a little better than phil collins too
Thanks Benji for this clip as it's first time i heard it.
Just like Janet Jackson's hit single 'control', this live performence of 'Saturday Night/Sunday Morning' is much better than the actual song on Collins now classic album "but seriously.'
when recording this in the studio, phil origonally wanted to use his voice for the melody, but was advised the use the tom tom horn arranger on the part. funny thing was previously he thought tom tom was a person doing the arranging but was actually a machine.
tom tom IS a person, and a member of the old phoenix horns like they were on Face Value. He arranged Hand in Hand , I missed again and stuff like that... so this to, I guess, but Tom Tom was the aranger, check out the Face Value Docu ;)

Say what you like about Phil Collins, he is a fine drummer.
Some decent work from the horn section too, though the lead trumpet was a bit out in the first half.
