  • Joe brand always get the caught for using predictable jokes. Terrible comedienne. Her jokes are either: how ugly she is, not caring, or something about her husband. May god help that man (I'm an atheist!)

  • I dislike Jo Brand.

  • Yo dawg, I heard you like lakes...

  • BLAME canada!

  • if anyone from the QI elves see this. I found out yesterday that in the Philippines there is an island, inside a lake, inside an island, inside a lake, inside the Philippines which is technically an island inside an ocean. The lake in question is called Taal Lake.

  • Kudos to stephen frye for his great knowledge of canada. and a big "Fuck You" to that stupid ignorant bitch for her dumbass, "who cares" comment. Obvioulsy I am Canadian and proud of it. I would have respected her if she would have just said, "I don't know". You would expect that from an American, but suprised a Brit made that comment, considering we were once part of your empire.

  • @paulcorda who cares?

  • @iMoD190 - You are just as much of an idiot as the lady in the video. Have fun being a moron.

  • @paulcorda i'm just taking the piss.

but really....most brits don't give a shit about the empire.

I hate to admit it, but a lot of them probably don't have a clue about the empire and think that canada is part of america.

  • @iMoD190 - So if I were on a show like this in Canada and they asked a similar question about britian, and I answered with "who cares". what would be your thoughts on that?

  • @paulcorda I really don't give a shit about lakes.

  • @iMoD190 - By that comment, I would have to guess that you would not care if I responded with "who cares". Ok then, not much to say about that. My only point was, all that lady needed to do was keep her fat moyuth shut and she would have at least come across as repectful.

  • @iMoD190 - Do you know how to answer a question? I didnt ask if you gave a shit about lakes. Learn to read and complrehend.

  • I find it surprising when people outside of Canada even know the names of the provinces...

  • on Manitoulin island (the island that is in a lake and has a lake), I found it quite amusing to find that there is another lake on the island within the lake called Nameless Lake

  • I would love to live on that island on a lake that has a lake on it :)

  • Yo Dawg I heard you liked lakes...

  • On the island Luzon in the Philipines, you'll find Taal Lake. In that lake, you'll find Volcano Island. On that island, you'll find Crater Lake. In that lake, you'll find Volcano Point, the largest island, in a lake, on an island, in a lake, on an island.

  • @WallehA i want to live there

  • what is weird is today on imgur i saw that island in a lake on an island in a lake.

  • Define an island. There is an island in Finland where one side is 90 meters above the sea and the other side is the seaside.

  • @qlight I'm confused; what do you mean? Can you give the name of the island; I'm really curious now as to what it looks like

  • @misterkami2 It is called the island of southern Finland (Etelä-Suomen saari). There is a lake called Vesijako between Lahti and Tampere, which flows both to Kymi river and Kokemäki river. Kymi flows to the Baltic sea at Kotka, Kokemäki at Pori. See wikipedia Vesijako.

  • @qlight Ah, thanks, now I understand. That is cool!

  • I got it right yayaaa!

  • @hww82 I got it too :)

  • Who cares? Bitch who cares about you.

  • Interesting factoid by the way: one of the islands in lake Manitou is actually not Canadian territory. It was ceded to the Emperor of Austria-Hungary in 1907, so he could have a private retreat. It remained in personal union with the Austro-Hungarian Empire until the end of WWI, but then was never devolved to any of the successor countries. So technically it is still Austria-Hungary - in fact now it's the entirety of the Austro-Hungarian Empire.

    Seriously, look it up.

  • Stephen screws up about Lake Manitou. Lake Huron contains Manitoulin Island, which itself contains lake Manitou, which itself contains islands. When you're playing Inception you gotta remember which level you're on.

  • I have a medium-sized bed yet an infinite amount of space underneath it. Underbedception.

  • As a Canadian, I get excited when people I respect talk about Canada. I think it's awesome that Alan knows so much about Canadian lakes.

  • @Jaxin30993 your canadian so you can tell me this. why is the great slave lake called the great slave lake? i mean it couldn't have had anything to do with the slave trade because its land locked and no where near africa.

  • @Daleksaresupreme1 The Slave River, which drains into it, is named after the Slavey Indians, who the Cree used to enslave.

  • @Hastur876 thank you, just something i wanted to know before i go to Canada

  • @Jaxin30993 who cares...

  • @Jaxin30993

Aland Davis is hilarious. And knowledgeable... when he wants to be.

  • LAKECEPTION

  • I have a large cock.

  • @Leowen2 I have a small Hen.

  • A lake on an island in a lake. Lakeception!

  • Take that, Jo Brand! xD

  • Creeper @ 1:22. -- That's a very nice inception lake you have there...shame if something were to happen to it..

  • Oh my God, Stephen Fry mentioned Lake Manitou! That's on Manitoulin Island. I used to live there. There are several islands on Manitou Lake making them islands in a lake on an island in a lake. All freshwater of course. Great place to swim and have a picnic. The whole area is gorgeous really. Lots of Americans cottage up that way.

  • "Comedienne Jo Brand falls into on eof the famous QI traps when she tries to be funny on the Quite Interesting panel show." Gutted

  • yo, dawg! i heard you liked lakes.... XD

  • Great Bear Lake - ENDS -

    I found that slightly amusing

  • The largest lake is your momma's vagina in the morning.

  • @xerke

    oh snap

  • superior is in canada - so that is the answer

  • @cardigan3000 But Superior isn't entirely in Canada, most of it is in the US (around Wisconsin and Minnesota).

  • @jayjjj3 that wasnt the question though was it

  • @cardigan3000 It wasn't, it was a misleading statement that I felt compelled to correct.

  • @jayjjj3 my statement was correct

  • @cardigan3000 Wrong, you said that your statement is the answer (presumably in response to Stephen's question, "Which is the largest lake ENTIRELY in Canada." Lake superior is not entirely in Canada, so it is not the answer, as you put it. Therefore the statement is misleading.

  • @jayjjj3 The original question - did not include the word entirely

  • @cardigan3000 But, as Stephen clarified, "If you had said one of the Great Lakes, there would have been a big noise." In other words you would have had a forfeit because the answer would have been wrong. It doesn't matter that Stephen didn't say it originally because the entire point of the program is to present an obvious question and then whittle down the specifics of it through the witty banter of the comics.

  • @jayjjj3 its not reasonable to change the parameters of a question after youve asked it

  • yo bro, i herd you like islands and lakes....

  • someone should built an island on that lake on the island on a lake and then put a lake on it !

  • That fat ugly bitch is stupid and annoying.

  • @MajorLeeScrewed I agree. What an ignorant cow. "Who cares!?" Arrogant British bitch.

  • Stephen Fry is actually wrong there. Lake Manitou is actually ON the island (called Manitoulin Island), which in turn is in Lake Huron - which isn't fully embraced by Canada, as it also borders on the US. Manitoulin Island is the largest fresh water lake island in the world, however.

  • Stephen Fry is a modern day legend, a great mind and one of the most intelligent people on TV. Funny as fuck as well. If is was gay...oh....hang on....if i were neither gay nor hetro...

  • 50 Qi videos and I'm still impressed at how Fry spits out facts like Kim Peek.

  • @iDENNY1982 Does this make sense in your head?

  • Due to leave Canada on Friday and go back to the UK on Friday. I am going to miss it hugely. The people here are top class. (I'm going to miss the rest of the Stanley Cup too! Bollocks)

  • Yo dawg we heard you liked lakes, so we put a lake in your lake.

  • ME: fuck Canada!

    Canadian: Hey! Fuck you buddy!

  • @iDENNY1982 yes, they probably would.

  • 0:12 - Balls to this ugly old woman.

  • @TheGloryOfStink She is a very well known and sucessful comedian, admired by many. Balls to you, sir.

  • @Betspanker I see. I do even remember having written this. Sorry, then. My mistake.

  • Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the deepest lake in Canada is actually Great Slave Lake, not Lake Manitou.

  • She's as funny as she is good looking.

  • I got it right!

  • Fry is right to say that Manitou is the largest lake on a freshwater island; the island is in Lake Huron, but Huron nor Manitou are anywhere near the deepest of lakes.

  • I'm sick of hearing about King arthers legends .

  • If you're one of those Canadians who complain that Canada should get more attention internationally, but you can't handle a little joke about trivia, you're not ready for Canada to get that attention. As many of us in the UK and US can attest, being from a high profile country means hearing a lot of potshots -- much worse than "who cares?". You've got a lovely country, but the inferiority complex has got to go. P.S. Please stop saying "North America" when you mean "Canada."

  • @Tracymmo americans are worse at taking a joke

  • @Tracymmo Not of all us! Spent a lot of time living outside the US, so I've heard it all, trust me.

  • I ain't buying the Nissan Juke.

  • City of Ottawa?

  • 0:01

  • 0:00

  • lmao took the words right out of my mouth. "Who cares?" :P

  • Lake within a lake.

    Lakeception.

  • @Ramaln Canada has a very small population compared to the size of the country. So Russia has less area per person, because there are WAY more people. Canada's population is around 33 million. Russia is around 141 million.

  • I hate that woman(forgot her name), nothing shes says on the show is funny and on other programs.

  • Yo dawg we herd you lieked lakes, so we put a lake in your lake so you could swim while you swim.

  • "Manitober" lol

  • Sean Lock is a dick

  • @blazontroll not sure

  • couple other quick facts about Canada: Largest freshwater beach in the world resides on the shores of Georgian Bay (lake Huron) Ontario and it is called Wasaga Beach (been there), also has the only temperate Rain Forest in the world (British Columbia, been there), and also has the only active Glacial Pulsation in the world in the Columbia Ice Fields, where enormous glaciers are still made today. Canada has every type of eco system barring tropical. By far the most georgeous place on earth.

  • @seanliquidpop how is this not a top comment ?

Are you from Canada? I am, and I think it is gorgeous, but I don't know about the most in the world.

  • @seanliquidpop Says the guy who has never been elsewhere. Go to New Zealand and then say that.

  • @baadshepherd And then I scroll down the comments and see at least 5 others with the same remark. Well I guess at least I'm not alone in my opinion.

  • @seanliquidpop i get to live there a hehehehe

  • @seanliquidpop Wasaga beach = college cottage parties! Going there this saturday again :)

  • @Haseeebo Watch out next week, thats when all the underage high school graduates go.

  • @seanliquidpop The temperate rain forest extends south into the US state of Washington. Of course the US portion of the rain forest being in the US is better.

  • Comment removed

  • @JayEmCee2011 its actually *gorgeous.

  • @seanliquidpop BC Also has the best bud in the world.so happy to be livin here. reppin the 604!

  • @CannibalXdeth25 Born in Vancity. 604. : )

  • Canada actually has over 2 million lakes in the whole country and more area/citizen than any other country in the world.

  • Small and little are both of Germanic origin, small used to mean 'narrow'. For those that are interested...

  • "Who cares"

-Not you mame, clearly not you.

  • Largest lake on an island on a lake - INCEPTION LAKE!

  • @sidewinderAUT *lakeception

  • @sidewinderAUT Nah that's vulcan point in luzon ni the phillipines, an island on a lake on an island on a lake on an island

  • @jimmyhayers That would be inception island then.

  • @sidewinderAUT I'm tired of all these inception references on all the good videos... Yes Inception was good, but you don't need to drain it like all other memes.

  • @sargentaaron2004 You're absolutely right, but 2 months ago, when i posted this comment, being slightly pissed and very tired at about 3 in the morning, i thought it was hilarious, so i shared my thought.

  • @sidewinderAUT Ah, well at least you're honest about it. You have gained 1+0 Internets

  • @sidewinderAUT LAKECEPTION

  • @sidewinderAUT LAKECEPTION

  • @NickXDDX You're an idiot. Inception means beginning, not one with thing with in another.

  • @j0gan673 You're an idiot. It's a joke relating to the movie Inception.

Get your head out from up your ass.

  • @MichelangeBro Yeah, I know, how could I have the internet and not heard of Inception or seen this stupid meme? It just pisses me off when people use it like that because they clearly have no idea what it means, and think that name of the film means 'dream within a dream' when it means the creation of an original idea within a dream.

  • @j0gan673 Stop being a God damn killjoy and let people have their fun. Why are you so consistent on pushing that fact into everybody? Please, enjoy life more and don't be a dick.

  • @TheSlinkyGuyShow I'm a dick because I know how to use a fucking word correctly? If people seriously find using words like 'lakeception' fun, they must have a really dull life.

  • @j0gan673 No, you're being a fucking killjoy. Stop it.

  • @TheSlinkyGuyShow Look, I am all for people having fun. It just pisses me off when people do it in an idiotic way, like using a word completely incorrectly. It's like when people misuse irony to mean coincidence. It completely spoils the humour when it's wrong.

  • @j0gan673 Some people are better off not knowing what it actually means because for THEM it spoils the humour to know the actual meaning because it becomes unfunny to them. People have different preferences, in fact most people probably recognise "inception" as a different meaning to yours, that's why they say it. You just need to let them use it. I apologise for calling you a dick, but that's the way it goes, really. =]

  • @TheSlinkyGuyShow I know where you're coming from, but at the same time, doesn't it annoy you that people are finding something amusing just because they don't understand it?

  • @j0gan673 Not exactly, I just laugh at their mistake regardless and move on. I think, you know, if they think that's funny then I won't spoil it for them, let them laugh!

  • @TheSlinkyGuyShow I spose. But after so many months of it, sometimes you just snap...

  • @j0gan673 Yeah I understand if you don't like it. Like, I don't like the way Americans pronounce the word "Twat".

  • @TheSlinkyGuyShow I don't think I've ever heard one say it, actually. It's a very British word. Or seems so, at least.

  • @MichelangeBro I mean that it means that in context to the film.

  • It's the biggest lake in the biggest island in the deepest lake... xD

  • My guess was Lake Huron...it's wrong but at least I was close :)

  • @andyrooney12 Lol i just want to point out that of the great lakes. Lake superior is the largest lake

  • So many Americans traveling overseas tell people that they're actually Canadians that it's starting to give Canadians a bad image around the world.

  • @andyrooney12 Actually, based on a survey of 15,000 hoteliers in Europe, Americans ranked as the second, along with the Swiss, as the best tourists in regards to their behavior (polite and tidy) along with the Swiss.

  • jesus i hate english ppl now...

  • Do brits actually watch this ?? I doubt it but... anythings possible

  • Fry is full of knowledge. That woman is such a waste.

  • Would Manitoba floods be considered a lake, cause if it is most people here have lakefront properties right now, the water is going up a foot a day. Who's up for a canoe trip to work.

  • Lake Superior.

  • Ontario

  • I like Fry!

  • Great Bear lake is AMAZING! don't knock it till ya try it!

  • Funny how many things you can learn in such a small amount of time xD

  • Even as a Canadian, I must agree with "Who cares". Same goes for any other country in the world.

My guess was Great Slave Lake, which was close.

  • @RustySporks Close in geographical location or in the lingual sense?

  • @turbotone64

    Haha, both actually.

  • My guess is 99% of Canadians have never seen it, except on a map. We keep just about everybody within 200 klicks of the border. Somebody has to keep an eye on the elephant.

  • I KNEW someone would say Who cares!

  • Great Bear Lake is insanely deep too.

  • Go Canada! We may not have much.... but Canada is really big.

  • Not sure where they got Great Bear as the largest. Lake Superior is 2.5 times larger! 82 sq km compared to 31 sq km

  • @brianmacru prolly because its shared with America, and therefore not in canada entirely... just like he mentioned in the video...?

  • Great Bear Lake ftw
