I remember when this happened and they turned on Dusty and Sting. The Road Warriors didn't stay heels for very long then, and went on into a feud with the Varsity Club.I believe this was because they had too many heel tag teams, and plus the LOD were still popular with the fans no matter who they beat up.
@sammys70 Exactly on the crowd reaction. I attended an arena show during the Warriors heel turn. They fought Ron Simmons and the Italian Stallion (Guess which team only got one tag in and who got pinned. ^_^). People cheered way more for the RW than anyone else. Simmons did a good job of getting pissed and berating the crowd for cheering.
I miss the good ol day's back in 86 waiting ever weekend to watch WTBS I could'nt wait to see who would get beat down NWA knew how to keep you coming back for more.
Ahh yes, the good ol days when wrestling was wrestling. I remember my buddy and I would watch NWA wrestling religiously every week. Then go downtown all hyper and rowdy. lol. Brings back memories.
great angle. the road warriors had to do something vicious every once in a while just to keep the fans from cheering for them and showing that they really were heels who didn;t care about anyone but themselves.
I remember watching this on the old Saturday night NWA program on TBS...this was classic....the should have named TBS superstation to NWA Superstation..it was non stop NWA...awesome angle...only thing that comes tro question is the what ifs...."what if Sting and Dusty did beat LOD at Starrcade??
maaaaaaaaan i remember this , i ALSO thought it was real!!!! and even though it's obvious now; the smoke and mirrors of it all... that looked B R U T A L ! !!!!!!
When the LOD went bad they were the baddest of the bad. They funny thing is only the LOD and Dusty planned this scene and they ended up getting fired for it since they were not supposed to bleed on TV..........Go figure.
i remember when lod turn bad and i would have to say they were scary and undertaker first two years in wwf was scary they Intimated from 88 -91 4-8 years old and the always beat the shit out of my favorite wrestlers sting and warrior... but when the warriors injure sting i was crush the first time i seen him and poor midnight express lod show no mercy when they were heels lol
dusty blades and they pretend to stick it in his eye, great wrestling of the nwa mid atlantic

This is more intense than Jake The Snake using a King Cobra to bite Randy Savage.

@Fartingbellybutton The NWA was way more intense than whatever the WWF did!

So true. After all these years, I'm still not used to the NWA/World Championship Wrestling 2 hr. show @ 605p EST not airing on TBS.
