FLCL is a very popular Japanese animation, or Anime, somewhat like Scooby Doo in the West (bad reference). The series' soundtrack was music from this band. That's it.

They said they're "INFLUENCED" by the beatles.. they don't have to sound just like them. They're whole music style is influenced by them and probably by a lot of other bands too which gives you a whole new sound. Beatles were good but the pillows are good too. They're a different sound yet you can hear the beatles influence in the songs. But overall remember the key word: Influenced. Also the Pillows have stated this so theres no reason to debate it.

I know, but I guess there's a trick to it; they've put music to it that gives you a feeling of determination, and determination in the face of despair is hope.

I guess it's like a lot of songs, the music doesn't match the lyrics, and that's probably because the lyrics aren't always what the song's really about.

I love the pillows to death, there is something about their songs, I feel like they are muffled in a way like the noise is compressed too much. But there is something soothing and constricting at the same time. There is a certain freedom to it, but its almost irritating. I guess that why I love them so much.
