I don't see what's wrong with adjusting animals. It's not as if chiropractic adjustments are still very much scientifically unproven and generally rely on anecotes in human beings, and...oh... nvm.
@Mikedg dachshunds are known for getting neck and back problems due to their elongated spine. Having them adjusted if you can afford to have it done is not a bad idea actually to help them stay more comfortable as they age.
One question why are you using the activator so many times? The atlas if it is shifted will be shifted in one direction, therefore a force is needed only in one direction to move it back. By hand or atlas orthoganol devise. AO should be able to be used on dogs too. . This is looking like full spine, and not upper cervical to me.

You can over adjust. When the atlas is in the right place behind the skull in a neutral position the rest of the vertebra will also find that neutral position as well.
Dogs have bones just like humans. Dogs can get serious back and neck problems. How else do you suggest they get made better ???

You can over adjust. When the atlas is in the right place behind the skull in a neutral position the rest of the vertebra will also find that neutral position as well.
