  • i love to see a performer enjoy themself. leroy van dyke has a talent and loves sharing it. ty for the post

  • for everyone that dont like this your just plan dumbass ,he is one of the best and I got to auction with him its something I'll never forget

  • @TRACYBYRDFAN your life must be so frustrating with no idea of sarcasm. @williamgwall that was quite entertaining.

  • I spent almost a month with this song and now i can sing it! YES!! :D

  • Awesome. I am in Arkansas, from California, and I could not talk this fast; let alone sing it! I assure you the people of Arkansas are so smart, they could tech you many things.

  • Excellent musical performance!

  • I *never* get tired listening to this! LeRoy is the only performer who can do this song justice.

  • But Leroy doesn't wear a Van Dyke! Thanks for posting!

  • wow, love this...

  • $40 dollars!

  • I don't care about all the negative posts on this song! This is one of my favorites and brings back great memories of my daddy. My daddy wanted to be an auctioneer and would take me to many livestock auctions when I was a little girl. Everytime I hear this song, it reminds me of my daddy!!

  • Excellent musical performance!

  • I bought this song as a 45 and sat down and listened to it writing down every sound Leroy made and learned the lyrics...I still have fun singing this song some 30 years later!

  • Im learning this song at my school its really good but tricky.

  • One of the greatest country songs of all times, and one only Leroy Van Dyke can do right.

  • I'm learning this with my highschool Man Choir, so hard, but so fun!

  • This is what country used to look like and not you have people like Tim McGay who look more like a dancer at a male review than county.

  • good God. enjoy the presentation without trying to pick apart every aspect of the ART that IS MUSIC

  • This song is like the "Dirt Road Anthem" of the 1960's, country rap at it's finest! What makes it more authentic is the fact that Lee Roy Van Dyke was an auctioneer before he became a country music singer.

  • You can tell he never did drugs.

  • Bass mistakes? Lol you're obviously not a musician and have no business criticizing..

  • What the hell is with his eyes at 1:00?

  • @17br549 ...probably just a reaction to the bright lights.

  • Who can sing it?

  • Watseka theatre Watseka Illinois Summer 2011 Country Music Concert Series;

Aug 5 Josh Thompson; Aug 26 Ricky Skaggs ; Sept 3 Jerrod Niemann.

  • Thanks Gator

  • i never heard the original. Gordon Lightfoot used to do a great cover of this.

  • @carrawitt Wow... if you hadn't pointed those out.. I wouldn't have heard 'em.

  • @carrawitt live show...I reckon you are absolutely perfect ... freakin moron who are you simon

  • @carrawitt GOOD EAR! I never noticed it.

  • @carrawitt I realize that the glaring error has scarred you for life and you'll never be able to listen to music again, but try to bring yourself to the level of mere mortals and understand. The syndicated TV programs produced in Nashville in the early 60s were done on a very tight budget...no rehearsal, no written arrangements, usually one run through by the artist and then a taping (no retakes). Given that knowledge, I'd say the bass player did fairly well, and certainly a lot better than you.

  • @carrawitt You really need a hobby.

  • @carrawitt

Totally ruined for sure! Lets get back in the studio and punch in some corrections. The room sounds a little to small, lets add some digital reverb and auto-tune the vocals along the way. The clapping at the end was a little too live sounding so lets loose that. Add some compression and chorus, to even the whole thing out, and replace the singer with a 19 year old with nice boobs and we're back in business. Speaking of business how about a little product placement in the rap.

  • @williamgwall Well said William!

  • @williamgwall It sounds great, who cares about a few little base mistakes!!!! Have you heard the state of country music today?! This should be music to anyones ears

  • @williamgwall i thought it was gonna turn into justin beiber until you said nice boobs

  • @williamgwall LOL

  • @williamgwall WHAT?!?!?

  • @williamgwall With his voice, all of that technical crap would have ruined this song and , well face it, Leroy would have never made it.

  • @williamgwall homo!!! this is a classic song!! how bout you sing it and play guitar ya pussy!

  • @goyardallday

Of course it's a classic you half-wit. The problem is your reading comprehension.

  • @williamgwall aww...shut up, you picky modern jackass.

  • @TRACYBYRDFAN97

Did you cypher that out on yer old-timey computer box?

  • @williamgwall you know nothin about country music do you lmao

  • @williamgwall Excellent satire. Too bad some people with poor reading skills don't get what you are doing.

  • @carrawitt Get a life.

  • @karpdamm Well said!! :)

  • @carrawitt I wouldn't say it "ruined" it and I wouldn't even say those were mistakes. I think you are making a bogus complaint to make yourself look like some kind of expert. The quality of this music is not good enough to discern a mistake in chords.

  • Some could sing great. Some could auctioneer great. This genius put them both together. Gawd, I was waiting for him to start juggling at the same time.

  • bin a long time since i last heard this one , still sounds good !

  • This guy is awesome!

  • He is still fantastic! Just saw him in Fla.

  • My father liked this and he could do it very well himself.

    *****STARS

  • i grew up on this music

  • Please,Please,Recognize the GREATNESS of this.

  • Go to a farm auction, not too many gifted with an art like this.

  • Great video, artist, and song. Thanks for sharing this wonderful video.

  • For years Gordon Lightfoot ended his concerts with this song.

  • @dad2mak really? Was he auctioning stuff in Canadian money?

  • @Gatorrock787 must have been when ours was worth more!

  • I LOVE LEROY VAN DYKE :)

This is my favorite song of his, and to this day, I think it is one of THE BEST songs ever written! And HE wrote it his self. What a awesome guy!! :)

THANKS SO MUCH 4 SHARING IT :)

I love 'SOLD' too, by John Michel Montgomery!!

  • Incredible.

So, this is like the early roots of rap music then?

  • @brentslivenewyears no, because this makes sense!!

  • Gatorrock you rock! Greetings from Bavaria. This song is upon my favorites since decades. Thanks for uploading it!
