  • does mushkin power supply's protect's the hard ware's from high voltage and short circuit and all that stuff.?

  • @timetolivecostoms tom between the corsair, silverstone , coolermaster 1200w , ocz 1250w 80 plus gol psu´s what would be youre choice ???? and any special reson why or just that you llike the brad

  • @saguerraty Probs the Corsair matey :)

  • someone wants to trade me this 1200watt for my seasonic 750x series cause he doesnt need all the power and i want to SLI 480 and 750w is not enough for overclocking and everything you think this is a good idea on my part?

  • Ok I found the Mushkin 1200 watt Joule for $118.99 on a website. Should I go with that or the Corsair HX850 watt from newegg for $164.99?

  • This guy is uugglleh! Its the dreaded combination of : clappy ears , nose to right , oversized skull on short hair , the gestique of a delirium tremens patient . Why does he have to be in the picture at all , Why cant it be just the product?

  • @im0rtel hmmm surpressed homosexual feelings? For help with this call 555-I-dont-give-a-F*@k

  • @TimeToLiveCustoms I had a feeling you wouldn't give a rational answer so ill explain to you again , with patience , my discontent with this channel :

-Why do you force me to sit trough 2:33 min of videoblog ?Why cant you get straight to the product?

Cant you make another channel if you feel like detailing your future plans. Your fans should follow you there if they want to see your face so much. I just want to see the unboxing here. Can you limit to just that?

  • @im0rtel No. Just go and watch another channel.

  • @im0rtel seriously us subscribers subscribe for a reason, honestly if tom didnt do his vids long id unsub lol

  • @Luger718A1 Another person that doesnt understand anything. The lenght of a video is not the issue , its what's it filled with. At the moment this video is : part videoblog and part unboxing . Its the mixture of subjects that makes a channel bad. If you go to a local store to buy oranges do you want it to also sell you chinese backscratchers and cement? . This is the issue : its a mixture and its a bad mixture.

  • @im0rtel umad?

  • @TimeToLiveCustoms tom hows the psu working out i just got one :D

  • @Luger718A1 Its worked out really well dude, obviously unlike many I change my parts alot depending on what Ive got coming in, but it has worked faultlessly and taken all the abuse (twin 6990's tripple 580's ect ect) and not given me any problems what so ever.

  • @TimeToLiveCustoms do you use the rails split or combined?

  • @Luger718A1 I personally have it on combined so I know the cards get enough amps.

  • @im0rtel

    just ignore this wanker man

  • wouldn't quite hear if u said you prefer your power supply fan up or down as ive been considering turning my hx650 over fan up in a 932 for bottom mounted

  • @asus3571 make no difference really dude, I do it for looks more than anything.

  • @TimeToLiveCustoms yea what i figured was this an old vid cuz that psu is deactivated

  • Tom would you recommend the Corsair HX 850 watt psu or a 800 watt Mushkin Joule? Any difference in the quality or reliability?

  • @madgnad fair bit of price difference between the two but the Corsair is the better if just looking at performance.

  • nice psu !! love to get my hands on one of them.. bet there not cheap..

  • Will there be a Reviews & Articles of these Mushkin PSUs on the site?

  • @fuloji No dude, as I said its just me changing PSU's on the bench rigs

  • When's 1st prize video getting posted?

  • I will stick to my Antec 1200W.

  • any idea on the combined 12v rail amperage?

  • wouldnt that led switch get in the way f.e. when you flip the psu in a R3 case?

  • CM 690 II white! Good to see that it won't collect dust in the corner of the room.

  • Is there a reason you usually include Mushkin PSUs in your set-ups?

  • @slytown what do you mean usually use mushkin PSU's dude? This is the first time?

  • @TimeToLiveCustoms Sorry. I meant NZXT.

  • @slytown The times Ive used NZXT has been because they are white, yet still bloody good power supplies.

  • always red, green, blue just like light saber

  • @marcolulu08 and purple :D

  • I used two of the mushkin Joule 1200W PSUs for my SR-2 Quad SLI Premier build and they worked wonderfully! The amazing thing is that you can buy about 3 Mushkin Joule 1200W PSUs for the single price of the Corsair AX1200. (I have used that as well) Mushkin answers the phone when you call also, etc, etc, etc. Definately a fine company. In fact, I have sold my Premier build and the only two parts that remain are my two 1200W PSUs in separate rigs. :) Great Review!

  • antec now has a lot of cases that the blue would look amazing with. I quite like this PSU

  • Nice, didnt even know they did power supplies! I like mushkin more every day.

  • Better find a thick kettle plug...for the 1.2Kw you would be better off fiting a uk 3 pin plug on that supplied cable. thanks for the detailed look mate.

  • why Blue? Why not Mushkin green for the PSU connectors and Black for the mobo connectors.Doesn't make any sense to me. Either way, great review Tom, as always.

  • At the end of the day, at the end of the day, at the end of the day!

  • Hey that finish on the second one is amazing, never seen one like it before. Mushkin should make a psu with that finish, a 120/140mm fan that has 3+ colors (I have a fan in my rig that can change from "256 colors"), and fully modular. That would be phenomenal in my opinion. Especially if the rail switch makes a difference (I can't tell on mine). One last thing I found humorous; you got yours with a US cable, well I'm in the US and mine came with a UK cable, weird eh.

  • Hey that's my psu! When I got it the sticker was mislabeled but I got it worked out and it's awesome. Wish it was fully modular though.

  • I'd take an AX1200 over this any day.

  • all your videos are awesome, even this one :D

  • i'm a regular :D

  • @al3600ex the AX1200 is what I removed from this rig dude :)

  • @TimeToLiveCustoms Hey, just wondering... what makes this better than the AX1200?

    Great video again Tom!

  • @LittleLegion didnt say it was better. Testing parts is kinda my job :p

  • @TimeToLiveCustoms Oh okay. ^_^

  • @LittleLegion hey seen your comment. if you want a good 1200w psu you cant go wrong with antec's true power. i've heard the corsairs had issues but i cant really confirm anything, corsair makes quality stuff. also the evga psu is a ripoff. its basically a modified antec true power with a big markup on the price. hope this helps.

  • is it quiet???

  • @ 10:12 That wasn't very nice bro...lol.

  • After all the video reviews on youtube from ncix and independant reviewers, i find only Tom manages to make what should be a 5 minute video review into a 30 minute video, where we find out the stuff i'm not looking for like the colour of his first trainers..... but why on earth am i so bloody interested haha?!?!

top videos and great reviews every time, i'm told exactly what I want to know and is explained in detail keep them coming man!!

  • @GamerzForRealz awww cheers dude!

  • @TimeToLiveCustoms what on earth do u do with all the equipment after you review/replace it on your rig?

  • Comment removed

  • @GamerzForRealz I saw that video, for those interested it's from LinusTechTips' channel, and is wrongly titled P8P67 Deluxe 1156, not 1155. The link to NCIX doesn't return a product result, so no pricing available yet. Another retailer has it at $248.90 CDN, which is about what you'd pay for a 1366 board (though some of the latter are now in the $180-$200 range, including the very capable ASUS Sabertooth.) I also found an Intel DH67BL going for only $119.70. That's about 80 quid Tom.

  • Mushkin must love you guys, first white ridgebacks then this

  • gimigimigimi

  • if you dont like the labels you can always peel them off, use some goo gone and alcohol wipes to clean of the gunk :P

  • the best product !!!!!! love Mushkin

  • Blue is Gigabyte! How could you forget o.O

  • @mhaneline if it was my £300 i would buy a GTX570, and you'll have £10 spare at the end:D

  • @mhaneline DOH my bad.

  • hey guys this is a litle bit of topic but i got a question wich video card do you think i should buy for under 300 pounds around 450 USd cpu will be a 1090t doesn't matter if it is ati/amd or nvidia

  • I like them but I'm worried about no 80+ logos :O.

  • hi guys!

  • I need a new PSU sooner or later, do they do the nice mirror one in a higher Watt as I am looking for around 800Watt ish ???

  • No 80+ logo or anything..? That is prettty scary.

  • Pretty loud... :(

  • the tagan bz series i had this switch awesome to split in-between single rail and multi rail when you combine the ampage is usually lower then it would in split mode.

  • Not sure how I like the fact the PSU isn't all modular. I typically expect PSU's in this range to be fully modular. Also, while the mirror surface is interesting, I feel it would finger print magnet. Also, I prefer to have the rails combined. Maybe I'm just not picking.

    Thanks for the review.

  • @1timby if you need a 1200W power supply in a rig all the attached cables will be used. 24 pin + the 8 pin is require for all setup and the 2 pci will be used for video cards. if not why would you buy a 1200w?

  • @lordmat666 Dude not the point. Most high end PSU are all modular. Makes the rig easier to cable and do cable management. You only have to worry about one cable at a time and can decide on the cabling order. I have a 1K PSU and it's all modular. I've been in the PC/Tech business for a long time and Mushkin has a long standing as a vendor that builds good products.

    Was just an observance.

  • @1timby only a small% of psu's are 100% modular. I dont think its a big deal tbh.

  • dude you're not sure about the turquoise colour on that power connector? you based your christmas rigs on that freaking colour lmao look at your gigabyte motherboards.

  • You forgot the .wmv extension on the video

  • Hy Tom i`m new into overclocking, so i have a question. My current power supply only has a 4 pin cable for the cpu and my motherboard supports 8 pin. Will a 8 pin cable will give me room to overclock further?

  • @nLevel20 when really pushing the clocks it can help with power hungry CPU's really helps

  • though the hale90 still looks better with that fractal case dontcha think?

  • Those are some nice cables. IMO.

  • tom this is 2011 you gotta get used to special colors, i really like the turquise :p

  • 20 well used minutes, thanks!

  • Damn, Mushkin makes PSUs as well? They're just spreading their wings aren't they?

  • I have a question

How do i know ho many watt i have to use?? for if i'm going to build my own pc

  • @HeavyMetalBlaster you need to know what parts you are needing to power to start with.

  • @TimeToLiveCustoms

does it say on the box how many watts it must have (graphic card

    for instance ASUS EAH5970/G/2DIS/2GD5/A

  • @TimeToLiveCustoms

does it say it on the box how many watts ( for a graphic card

    for instance ASUS EAH5970/G/2DIS/2GD5/A

  • @HeavyMetalBlaster go to xtreme power calculator, just google it. enter your parts and specs, then youll get the minimum psu wattage and the recomended psu wattage. hope it helps

  • @HeavyMetalBlaster you should go to corsair`s website for example they have a power supply meter where you can insert your system components and it will automatically calculate how many watts you need

  • @nLevel20

    oke thanks

  • @HeavyMetalBlaster If you google "wattage calc", you can just choose your part and let the site calculate it for you! :)

  • @HeavyMetalBlaster if you go to corsair.com and then mouse oven learn & explore there is a PSU finder, it's easy to use and it tells you what PSU's are recommended for your system.

  • Hmmm.....Mushkin = Corsair v2.0? Can't wait to see them try to make a case =D

  • Could you Plz respond to my e-mail I sent to you Tony? Thank you very much! Nice video thinking of getting it for my friend^^

  • @GeekRage email or PM?

  • @GeekRage just looked it was in my spam box. Im sorry dude i get asked that same question hundreds of times a week, Id normally have just deleted it. The quick answer is no Im sorry I cant help you.

  • @GeekRage Who's Tony?

  • @robertsja9999 Hehe i dunno yet to, i cant understand exactly what he just say... hi guys.. its tony tom logan back with another video. xD

  • fleckle hehehe

  • re: 650w PSU

That mirror look is very cool, like you said, for showing off graphics cards and things like that. Reminds me of some car shows where they lay mirrors on the ground to make viewing the undercarriage of the cars easier.

Good review dude, and Happy New Year!

  • Some Tagan PSU's also have that Split and Combine button =)

  • where to buy these cant find em on newegg

  • i love that shiny finish, and i agree it would be awesome to see it alot more

  • needs some different end pieces put on from a mod site

  • Only Tom can make a 20 minute video on a power supply and keep it interesting. =)

  • @Gfoxie :D

  • @Gfoxie he even makes ending the video awesome, with his thumb wiggle =D

  • @Gfoxie I was thinking that too, I love toms vids, They are long but i like long ones, NCIX etc do 5mins, Rush the whole thing and tend to miss information out, But it's impossible for Tom to miss anything out as he takes his time :D, keep the good vids up man!

  • @Gfoxie (lol) i find this dude interesting no matter what vid he's doin

  • Nice video!

  • I have the mushkin 550 watt and it has the like the same finish. It attracts fingerprints so much lol nice of them to send you that lol

  • i think id rather get one of the new antec hcp models

  • favorite reviewer

  • look cheap
