"The King was very foolish to be tempted by evil, however, I will give him another chance. You must go down to Earth and revive the world!!" The Master said.
On a ray of light, you descended to Earth... A warrior sent to revive the living and punish evil. A SOUL BLAZER!!."
Dr. Leo finally completed the machine. The King instantly called upon Deathtoll, hoping they might strike a deal.
After many days the deal was complete. The King would bring Deathtoll all living creatures, and in return, Deathtoll would give him a gold piece for each.
One by one, all living creatures began to disappear. Soon the world was completely empty.
Two people were watching this catastrophe, the Master, and you, his follower.
"Wise men tell a tale late at night of a great King destroyed by the temptation of evil.
The Freil Empire, as it was called in those days, was ruled by a powerful man, King Magridd.
It seems most people thought the king was a fair and kind ruler. There were some, however, who felt the king himself was ruled by greed.
One day the King happened to overhear two guards talking about a man named Dr. Leo. Now Dr. Leo was considered by all to be a great inventor and a genius.
My brother and I played this game when it first came out. I played through it three times. I was 12 years old at the time of the game's release. This game is a cult classic, and a remake for PSP is warranted, getting the same treatment as the PSP versions of Final Fantasy I, II, and IV, with an arranged soundtrack. The game was scored by singer-songwriter Yukihide Takekawa, son of Hiromi Takekawa.
Listening to all 1-20 songs reminded me of the good old days when games hwere actually good Soul Blazer was my all time favorite game i still play it over and over again only if they made a remake of it for the Wii
Well I just downloaded the ROM for this game and beat it in 2 days lol. I played it and actually for the first time got all 8 emblems! I think ive probably beat it 8 or 9 times now. Still love it just as much as the first time i played it!
I think I got my guy up to level 80, switching between two screens. I saved state there and killed the same rolling box things in the last level, over and over. I was trying to see what the max level was.
The place where you went down a screen, then up to refresh the tumbling blocks? ...and there are two, that you can nail with one magic sword swipe, right when you change screens? Then you go back and forth rapidly?
haha yup thats the place. You actually hit 3 of them cuz one is just off screen and if you give two sword swipes you get the third every time :P I gave up after 30 though...what colour was your health bar by then!?!?
It's been several years since then. I forgot. Last boss was cake though... Whenever I got bored, I'd fire up zSNES and open that state and spend maybe like 30 minutes to an hour killing those things and meditating on stuff.
@xXSoulBlazerXx I know what you mean. I restarted this again yesterday, for the umpteenth time, and I've been playing it for over fifteen years. An absolute timeless classic.
Well i tried to leave a comment on your channel but it wouldnt let me. So ill just say this has been my fave game since i can remember and thank you SO SO SO much for posting all the songs...really brings me back! Great work!

The King stayed up many nights wondering how he could use this great inventor to make him even more wealthy.
All of the suden the King had an idea. He ordered his guards to capture Dr. Leo and bring him to the castle at once!
Soon Dr. Leo was brought to the castle.
The King confined him in a small room and ordered him to invent a machine that would summon the King of evil, Deathtoll.

Does anyone else's copy stutter during the first few drumbeats at switch-on? Mine does XD But if you then reset the game, it plays fine.
