Just watched all your videos in this series. Great stuff. For personal security I'm thinking a hand cannon is the answer...what it lacks in accuracy, it gains in shear awesomeness in a close quarters suburban situation. Thank you for your work on these videos, much appreciated.
The Browning Hi-Power is a single-action, 9 mm semi-automatic handgun. It is based on a design by American firearms inventor John Browning, and completed by Dieudonné Saive at Fabrique Nationale (FN) of Herstal, Belgium. Browning died in 1926, several years before the design was finalized.
@De4dm4u5Rulez Check out the Ruger semi auto .22lr pistol line, they call them like Mark i and iii. I think I read somewhere that they are based on the Nambu. They have a Mauser C96 style charging handle, vs the Luger's weird triangle looking charging handle as seen in the video. That's basically my entire knowledge on the 2, there's probably huge mechanical differences as well lol.
probably the best example of the merging of the P-38 and High Power is the Beretta, such as the 92\M9. Not only does it simply combine the double stack magazine and a decocking safety on the slide, it even copies the P.38's locking system.
great series but he skips through the 1911 which is one of the most significant and prolific handguns in history... I'm hoping he does a short video just on the 1911...
No mention of the 1911 except in a slight aside during the hi-power? Surprising considering the 1911 was made earlier and several million have been made since.
well, it's a history video and short on time due to time restraints, at least it was shown in the video, how would you have felt if it wasn't shown at all?
Thank you, Sir.

I'm curious how John Browning could be so proud of the Hi-Power when he was dead and in the ground for about 9 years before the first one was built?
(The gun was built from drawings found on his desk after his death)
