I believe this is still the record holder for the largest concert audience ever. 250,000 tickets (for charity) sold + over 100,000 additional let in on the actual night for a total of over 350,000 people. The performance (center) part of the stage was over 500 feet wide, with a total width of the wall facade exceeding 1800 feet. The performance was recorded on the fly with TWO Sony DASH recorders linked together for a total of 96 discrete digital tracks/channels being used at the same time.
Actually, the Biggest attendance for a concert was "Led Zeppelin". At one of their concerts they had like over 650,000 people, and that was more than "the Beatles" had at one of ther concerts.
@Hamer4114 I'd love to know what concert this was ;) As this never took place. Led Zeppelin hold the attendance record for a single act, which is around the 70,000 mark.
And while it may be pink's relevation, he SUCCUMBS to it. He does not gracefully accept it, he is subject to it after his moment of weakness from overwhelming guilt and having being forced to answer to the policeman.
Also, the judge isn't physically in existence - he is only a figment of Pink's imagination. He is in some sense evil, but he's judgement is influenced by the societal standards of being normal. And, according to a stable society, Pink's behaviour is outstanding.
It's also relevant to point out that Pink began the trial by being overcome with guilt after he imagined being a neo-nazi, despite the fact that his dad died from Nazi's. In the end he gives up and SUCCUMBS to normal society.
ok im 14 and i loe pink floyd im going to the roger waters tour in nov. anyway so in this song are the judge prosecutor and schoolmaster bad or like are they trying to help him with his life can someone elplain to me like whats happening in the song
@wweplayer1038 Forgive the username. It'll be hard to bring forth my speculations in 400 characters but I'll do my best. The Trial is about how the main character Pink Floyd has finally come to terms with the fact that he has a serious problem, and this is his way with dealing with it. Keeping in mind that all songs in the album are in the first person perspective, I believe that these characters are good, although inadvertently. As violent as the song may seem, it's actually Pink's revelation.
@wweplayer1038 Im 12 xD, This is Pink in his mind having a Trial As to whos fault it is with the Building of the wall, And In his mind, People from his past are coming to testify in this "Trial" And At the End, Pink Decides to Interact with Society again by "Tearing down the wall"
@khmoles No no no, You have it wrong. The trial is determined after he is FORCED to interact with the police officer (a symbol of the authoriterian society which he lives in) after he opens the toilet door. In his head, the memories which are responsible for the building of the metaphorical wall testify against him. In the final result, the metaphorical judge condemns him for altering his wife and mother's life by outcasting himself. The wall is torn down - and the torment stops.
@thedoorsforever256 ya man i love the intensity when the guitar comes in on the original, and i've yet to hear another version that good. hopefully the concert i see in december will be though
i fucking love the judges voice, and the wifes voice, and the mothers, and the prosecutors, and the schoolmaster.....pretty much everyone in this is awesome, but the judge is awesome
