I always thought this would be a great alternative for Guile.

Exactly. I agree that hte music was sensational, but even the look and the feel of the game was great. the direction the designers went with the graphics look more realistic than the cartooney approach they are taking to SF4. EX was a great game and I felt like it played seamlessly compared to other SF versions. In summation, EX was my fav. series

Say what you will about the EX series. It might not have been a completely playable game, but the music was phenomenal, and that alone made it worth playing and replaying.

I actually prefer EX to the main series for various reasons. Other than chain super combos, I find this game to be free from the abuse of exploits that are so abundant in the 2D street fighter titles. I also feel that the characters are far more original in EX (not just new takes on existing characters). The fact that the music is so great is just an added bonus for me.

Ayako Saso, Takayuki Aihara, and Shinji Hosoe were the composers of the music for Street Fighter EX. Each of them did different tracks. They all came back together to re-arrange and compose new music for EX Plus Alpha.

For instance, Takayuki Aihara composed Rising Dragoon (Ryu's theme), Ayako Saso composed Protective God of Light (Ken's theme), and Shinji Hosoe composed Tenkyaku Buka (Chun-Li's theme).

Incidentally, Ayako Saso composed this particular track (Strange Sunset - Guile's theme).
