Why does God have to have his son killed before he can forgive human sins? Why not just forgive those who truly repent and ask for forgiveness? Most people have not done really terrible things in their life that it requires the death of anyone before they can be forgiven. Most humans have never killed or lived criminal lives. Most sins are minor..small lies and weakness-not big deal. Repenting and asking forgiveness should suffice because is merciful.
