I have LD... and it sucks! I get made fun of because of the way i learn, how i dont know half of the things the other kids know.. How badly i do on the test.. and i can hear the douchebags talking about me saynig "shes so stupid she cant do shit!" I sometimes cry to myself because i get made fun of so much... But i got friends with LD too and thats something we can relate to :)
I hate people who discriminate against disabilities! People don't seem to understand that we are talented people too. And may I just point out that having a learning disability doesn't mean that you learn slower, it means you learn differently. If these disabilities aren't catered for than you will find it hard to keep up with your class mates in certain things. Also I've discovered going through life that people with the highest marks aren't necessarily the smartest people you'll ever meet.

After watching this video I almost cried and I'm not kidding. This kid reminds me of myself when I had LD when I was a kid and I still have LD to this day. It just makes me so sad to see him have LD and he looks so innocent and happy it make me wanna cry.
@cloud8762 I have LD too. It dosent mean that your stupid or anything it just means that you learn differently. Walt Disney had LD and he created Mickey Mouse and had his own amusment park built.
dyslexic people process language/grammer not as a "normal" person do, but that doesn’t mean they aren't intelligent.
Dyslexia is NOT related to low intelligence.
I got the prognose that i had ADD and Dyscalculia, for people that hasnt heard of Dyscalculia it is to have problem with math. but when i made a check this year they took both those prognoses away and said that i had "outgrown" them, so they can go away within time, dont loose hope.
@Gurkmomma Yes it is true that both neurological disorders like Dyslexia and Dyscalculia have nothing to due with intelligence. But you saying learning disorders can go away in time is a load bullshit. There is no cure for it. There's no medication for it. This crippling disorder will be here for the rest of our lives! Sure it may seem like it went "away." But in truth you just developed to the point that your disorder is now manageable.
As a teacher and a mother of an LD Child, I am very sad to hear many of the comments so far. It is said that our most famous creative thinkers, like Einstein for one had learning disabilities. Can you imagine what our world would be like without these brilliant people and their contributions?!? I never would have dreamed of NOT bringing him into this world!
@coolsciencemom have you ever thought that its youre membership in a communist teachers union that makes you a bad teacher? When youre a bad teacher you produce students with difficulties. I hope you understand that its the tachers that are to blame and not made up LD crap!

I empathize with those afflicted with LD insofar as I've a math/sequences LD. That said,I believe anyone with an LD should NOT reproduce if his/her LD is a hereditary issue. We need to eradicate this from the gene pool.
Don't you love the way you're treated when what they're telling you that you have doesn't make sense. Don't do that to anybody else. If there's any way to stop it. My problems don't make sense. They don't. It's either a or b or c or a and c but not b.

I agree. I think if they find any mental defect, that that person shouldn't be allowed to reproduce. Who would want to pass something like that along, the experience of growing up yourself is bad enough.
I have dycalculia and i wouldnt trade it for the world. Life is no picnic with or without any mental problems, and dont call them defects cause they're not, differences is the correct word. I got through most of it im 14 now, and i plan to continue doing what i love, writing and composing music, and i plan to have children; sorry."Difficulties mastered are opportunities won"- Winston Churchill
Well you are the only one who feels that. I have dyscalculia and I'm willing to give up both my legs in exchange for removing this debilitating disability that makes every basic task that an average person took for granted. Oh sure I have talent, but talent means jack shit if you can't pass college algebra just to get a degree in art!
I'm sorry not only I don't believe in your lord, or a lord that is cruel enough to give his children disabilities, I don't think you have dyscalculia. Because if you don't understand how a math dyslexia is in a world that runs on math. May it be equations, directions, computations, organization, and anything that have to do with thought process that triggers the part of the brain that is responsible in math. Than you either don't have it. Or a very mild case of it.
@hieithegreat I would do anything to be rid of this learning dificulty, unofrtunatly I am forced to prove to people I meet that I am not stupid or worthless that i am a smebody even it means affecting my sleep and eating patterns than so be it. I know its sad for a person to consider to suffer for the sake of being respected.

Program in video clip has crappy synthetic voices!
CHECK OUT: nextup.com and their product TextAloud combined with plug in voices like the ones from AT&T.
Google Text-To-Speech or TTS and SAPI5 for more info.
