this is 100% true. Yelp called me and asked if I wanted to spend $2,500 per month advertising with Yelp! When I declined they "filtered" all but 2 positive reviews. No matter how many positive reviews come in they all get removed by the "filter".
Yelp is LYING. Yelp is all about extortion of small business owners.

Small Businesses for the most part hate Yelp...and most are desperate to find an alternative. Yelp is destine to fall because its business is base on fear and intimidation.

But unfortunately so many businesses fall in their trap and pay anywhere from $300 to $1,000 per month and make Yelp stronger company.Fellow business owners we simply need to refuse to finance this extortion. Search "Yelp Tour" on YouTube and see where your money is going... It's definitely not helping your business.

funny how yelp will allow anyone to post any number of negative comments on anyone out there without any credibility whatsoever but they don't allow any comments on their youtube channel.

Yelp has posted a terribly damaging review on my business in Seattle.
The review was originally on my competitions business name posted by "Sarah".
Now the negitive review moved to my business name posted by "Sarah K" Yelp team has seen the evidence (both the original review and fake copy review)
But has locked my account and now closed my account.
I would like to join a class action suit - cdenver11 @ yahoo
