@burnindownthehouse not to mention your use of the phrase "jammed together" seriously man what do you think this is? This is the next level of music for you apparently so learn how to handle it
the deep sound is due to him being tuned down a whole tone and then dropping the low 'E' down to 'C' - like drop 'D' tuning with the whole instrument one tone lower...
@guitarquartet - Nonsense. It's Segovia's always amazing right thumb. A very thick sound. This was a normal "drop D" tuning. It's NOT tuned down to C!
hey - thanks for the comment! if you check, you'll find that actually he is tuned as I said (but very slightly sharp overall). best to use (and trust) your ears and not the printed music, I think :-) best wishes, MM.
The last section of this version of the Suite is not by De Visee. It is the "Courante" from the Suite in D by Manuel Ponce, which was styled after Alessandro Scarlatti.
Hello, its a very interesting video! Because of this fact, that I am a BIG!!!!!!!!!!! fan of Andres Segovia. And I play guitar for many many years and I am from Czech Republic. And the music of french composer R. de Visee is so misterious, so beautiful and nice!!!!!!!!!! I know this piece Suite in D minor very well, because I know, that this suite is recorded by many guitarists in the world.

Hm, I wonder if this guy and Django ever jammed? Now that would've been a jam.

@porchmonkey401k Foolish? Unsophisticated? Because I think gypsy jazz and classical guitar might sound good together?
burnindownthehouse 2 weeks ago
@burnindownthehouse precisely, there is a strict integrity to this style of playing and its idiots like you that give classical guitarists a bad name
