Easy to care about the Plight of a MALE child, to the detriment of the Mother. Everyone does. This movie shows a dead beat dad, who pisses off and then all of a sudden "gets a conscience" and instead of "owning" his part, goes off "Locates the Mother" and drops the ball, straight back into her LAP. Yep. I agree with you. The descrepency lies, when a Female is NOT part of a MALES immediate family. Things that Males will readily do to a female, seem to exclude a particular Female that is within their own family group( Such as a daughter, sister, mother or wife). This Film Fucked with my head when I first saw it when it was released. I watched it again and it has done the same thing. I wondered where I got my hatred of Men from, and it was this Film. I wonder if a woman abandoned her kid and wandered around for 4 years, would she be handed her kid back plus an expense account or perhaps be thrown in an insane asylum?.
