I remember waking up at 3:55 AM every weekday to watch The Ink And Paint Club which had that Vault Disney Intro and I loved it. XD This is what they should show on Saturday mornings for ABC Kids.
I remember watching Disney all day as a kid and as soon as Vault Disney would start I would watch the intro and stay up and see it but would crash out as soon as it finished ha
I've been looking for a good quality version of the 1981-1983 Walt Disney intro; the others on YouTube are either the really cool extended version or bad quality versions of the short intro, lol. I was born in '79, so I have some fond, if vague, memories of that opening sequence :)
i hate how Disney thinks their doing a good job by experimenting and trying hard to be new and in with the new technology that is being presented day by day, but all they're doing is ruining themselves..
@deenage As was I. It had more devastating impact on me than anyone will ever know. That black and white mouse gave me the strength to endure life as a child.
p.s. I also think that things like this and shows from around this time is what disney channel was meant to be like, to make youre imagination, as a kid, to run wild. that aint happenin when you watch hannah montanna or wizards of waverly place. its gotten horrible.
I always think about this, and Im so glad I finally see it again so I know Im not crazy, because none of my friends remember. The black and white shows used to scare me!
Disney Channel was at it's best when it was new. It got to cable 1983. From '85 through '89 I was 5 to 9 and have great memories of 80's Disney Channel. It was family friendly with great tributes to the classics. 1990 - 1994 I was 10 to 14. They showed quality kid's shows, cartoons, Avonlea (a costume drama) and quality films. In 1995 and 1996, I was 15 and 16 and stopped watching. i was already too "grown up". But I've seen the 2000's and today's Disney channel and IT IS IN HELL. RIP..
I agree that Disney is nothing like it was in the 90's, but they butchered Nickelodeon worse. Disney is at least still "somewhat" semi-watchable....they just took all of the classic elements out. Nickelodeon sucks, though.
ah mann... sitll remember those from when i was 2. it was one of those things that made me run to my couch screaming. and now it makes me run to my chair creeped out.
I always thought the Vault Disney intro was a little creepy. The "80s Disney Special" opening, which follows it, isn't for a special at all - it was the 1981-83 opening of the weekly anthology series, which was on CBS at the time and was simply titled "Walt Disney" (early incarnations were "Wonderful World of Disney", "Disneyland", etc.).

I was upset when Valt Disney ended in mid 2002.

Walt Disney would've been furious if he was still livin. Vault Disney should've gotten its own channel as soon as it ended.
