@fireinthepentagram Actually, Jay Beckenstein, the guy who played the saxaphone for this song in the studio completely improvised eight different tracks, and the band picked the track they liked the best and put it on the album. Kevin Moore just learned the part on his keyboard for live shows.

For all those who dont know or dont know for sure, this show was overdubbed just like score was... the reason they did it was because Live at the Marquee was their first live release and they wanted it to be perfect... there is a bootleg over the internet of this show, and there you can see the difference in JLB voice...

It's not a compose track of vocals, but a one only full take, so pretty much how he would have sang it live .., not stops for mistakes or anything like that, so its quite natural.

Besides, the only reason why this was re recorded was because of the poor mic sound that evening, Live in tokyo is just as good

All of which is no offense intended towards LaBrie, he's a damn sight better than most singers out there even when he does miss a few notes.
