  • Dude, you ramble quite alot. I'm not really complaining because it's much more entertaining, it's just an observation. Thanks heaps dude!

    RexPearson. com

  • what?! i was just thinking about capos and using them and then i click on the next lessons and its about using capos! xD

  • I have a million picks to!!! cuz i am the sock monster :P

  • sock monster is quick too. Last week I dropped a pick, and it dissapeared, I swept the room to find the stupid red bear, and its GONE

  • hot... @_@

  • 4:50 "Oh shit, now I have to remember the tune I just made up."

  • A very good explanation about a capo. It helps me a lot !

  • Very nice vid... thanks for the great info on the capo! I use one already but it's nice to know even more about how and why. :)

Also, I have a "lucky" pick that is from the Fender headquarters in Arizona (it's hot pink, heart-shaped, and thin). I got it when visiting with my brother-in-law who designed amps for them at the time (I was about 16). Anyway, I call it lucky because it always plays well, is unique, AND it has dodged the sockmonster all these years!! :D

  • WHAT IS A GODDAMN KAPO?

  • I have a shitty capo, its a dunlop one and looks completely different to the one in this vid :S so I dnt know how to put it on :S hellp lol

  • thank yo sooooooo much this was so helpful lol strangely i havnt lost any picks lol so my sockmonster cant yet play guitar lol

  • The SockMonster has all my Plectums D:

  • I just broke my capo...

it's a bit different. you don't clip it.

it has some sort of strap which is attached to a piece of plastic bar thing and you have to lock that piece of plastic on some teeth shaped things and voila....

I found it really weird though. it wasn't like any capo i've seen before.

  • sounds like a strap-on to me ;P

  • @vinvinperez Did you ever manage to put it on the guitar? Because I don't know atm :S

  • @RaheemdaplayaO4 yeah.. i did :D

  • Nice playing card inlays.

  • sock monster been stealing my picks and socks too!!

  • yeah, he's been stealing my picks too lol! =)

  • @jluda2099 sockmonster got a bit above himself and actually stole my capo :( just about to go and get another one...I'll guard it better this time :P

  • What I find confusing is when someone plays with two capos. Really confusing, I don't get that.

  • When people use two capos, they're PARTIAL CAPOS, google it. Its like a capo that only bars a couple of strings.

  • @xXElLonelyBoyXx when people play with 2 capos they are sightly different they have different rubber on them to only hold down cretin strings on the neck this allows them to effectively play in many different keys look at trace bundy love song if your interested about this he used like 4 i think

  • very useful lesson. I am glad to know I am not the only one pronouncing Capo the way you do instead of the way they do in the states caipo.

    Thanks

  • @catylayuca

You can say it either way, but I say cay-po...capo

  • I think I bought the wrong capo, capo for classical guitar.Does it male any difference? Can i still use it?

  • The evil sockmaster's stolen about 15 of my picks... I have 1 left... lol

    Great lesson!

I have a capo with a screw on it =)

  • SOCKMONSTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I have a Dunlop trigger capo and it was darn expensive. =P

I'd say it's the least fiddly though.

  • haha cap-o? australians...

  • when my friend saw my capo he thought it was a grenade lol

  • Very useful lesson.

  • Another useful application of the capo is when two (or more) guitarists are playing a tune, one (or more) of them can use the capo so that they are playing the same chords but in different positions. This is an easy way to expand the harmonic texture of a song without really changing anything.

  • THIS

  • HAHA what's with the sock monster?

  • hehehehe my picks aswell are all over my flat...... i must kill that sock monster

  • my favourite ones always are being borrowed by him, leaving me with this thick one most of the time i feel uncomfortable playing with :(

  • I love the sock monster part :D

  • I like the tip on placement, have been placing in the middle and gonna try closer to the fret.thanks justin."sock monster" lol, good name for a band...

  • damn the Sockmonster stole 5 of my picks in 2 weeks!! D:>

  • I have the same capo that he uses in the vid but in black... ;)

  • basterd sock monster i should have thought about that now i know who has been stealing my plectrums x(

  • i think the sock monster lives in texas too because i always lose my capos and picks all the time...and socks too

  • lmao... sock monster stuff was so random.

  • I keep all your picks safe inside the socks I take from the laundry. when the sock gets full I steal a capo to hold it closed.

  • I love these beginner lessons. My neighbor's been asking for lessons, and they give me a real good idea of what you really need to teach early on. You rock man.

  • haha Yeah, I've lost millions of picks, they just disappear. It has to be that Sockmonster :P

  • Sockmonster got your picks aswell!!

That dude must be all over the place.

  • C oldschool ? didn't know about that one haha

    good lesson

  • haha ur right about the sockmaster stealing pics lol
