whats the struming pattern

I play guitar, but I still dont know how to do picking, I really want to play this song for a festival where I live, i'm a great singer and I know the basics for guitar the only negative: picking. Can anyone help?

My guitar teacher taught me a picking pattern to help me get better..

You pick the 4th string with your thumb, and the 1st string with your index finger,

3rd string with your thumb, 1st string with your index finger

2nd string with your thumb and 1st string with your second.. And then just speed up when your ready. :)

You can do the picking pattern with your pick too. (:

I could handle the no vocals because no one else thus far that I have seen has done the accurate pinger picking style. I would love to see how you do the pickins.
