  • This movie got so much crap when it came out and I don't know why it was really really good! Perhaps it will get a reboot.

  • This movie rocks

  • I watched this movie last year expecting to be entertained by a terrible film, but it actually turned out to genuinely entertain me.

  • The bridge scene never gets old.

  • in my opinion the mini theme of renewal and redemption was never done so well as it was in this film. the conflict was not as simple as hero versus villain but the war with our own dark nature. tame your beast and you harness its power without becoming its slave. a sound philosophy when you think about it. also the setting is nostalgic encompassing the spirit of a bygone age. thumbs up

  • OMG THAT KNIFE... O.o FREAKY WEIRD!!!!!! xD I LIKE IT!!

  • Sooner or later, Nostalgia Critic will review this!!

  • @vroota42 Having that unfunny hack review it would be a diservice to the film.

  • @vroota42 pleas no, it's a fairly desint movie

  • 3:42 what did he say?

  • i never though i be seeing this again....thanks

  • Thanks for uploading this movie it was an awesome movie

  • The bridge scene is the best part in the film. So fucking badass and i have a hat just like the duke's lol.

  • Sooo under-appreciated. Flabbergasted this did poorly, they had planned on a whole series of films.

  • 1st time i saw this was on lsd, best kind of film to see tripping.

the last time i saw this, was in a looney bin. we will see who has the last laugh eh.

  • those are some surprisingly good computer-effects on the dagger, especially for that time

  • I think that this would be a great reboot or if anyone has seen the phantom on Syfy, I think that it would be a cool story to modernize. I mean with all the high tech stuff, it would be cool to see how the shadow can get past all of this stuff. This was one of those films that yes there is some cheddar and moments where your like, nobody noticed the big ass mongol warrior walking the streets of New York? but its still a good movie, a classic weekend movie. My shadow pick, Matthew Bomer!!

  • @eventingirl001 for The Shadow remake, my pick would be Jon Hamm (Mad Men)

  • @2013venjix I could totally see that too. If they had to do a really you Lamont Cranston, Toby Hemingway.

  • @eventingirl001 - it's probably meant to be taken that they cloud others perception, so as not to be visible, like the building and the monestary.

i just found out searching for this that it was a radio show,

    /watch?v=BJR8AG0h8WY

    out of interest....

  • @JustSomePerson888 True, now that I think about it. I think he would probably have to have a team or a tech person who could get him past all of the high security stuff.

  • @eventingirl001 - his mistake was to admit he thought he was the khan, to western science medicine.

  • @JustSomePerson888 What do you mean?

  • @eventingirl001 - well if you say to western doctors that you know reincarnation etc is true, then their satanic cult can use that to label you mad, cause their fake-religions don't recognise it as the fact it is. his temp lobes were fried, but he should have just kidded them on he wasn't the khan.

  • Ying-Ko is a bad ass name

  • I saw this in the dollar theater when i was 14. Blew my mind. I'm having a very difficult finding alec baldwin interviews about this movie. Does he like hate it cuz it wasnt a commercial success. By far his greatest movie. Everyone knows he is the ultimate Batman, he just wouldnt get into great shape. But that was the 90's.

  • a great, GERAT movie - one of the underratedst movies ever

  • 3:43 what would they say if he kills one of the others who were laughing?

  • this is definitely gold in my book...

  • The production design on the film is memorable, Baldwin is genuinely giving it his all, the photography is wonderful and the music is typically good Goldsmith. This kind of film is very tricky to get right. I didn't think it amounted to a real success, but it definately was fun to watch.

  • I have no idea how to post a comment apperntly. Hate to burst your bubble but the entirety of Batman comes form The Shadow. " my first [Batman] script was a take-off on a Shadow story" said by Bill Finger writer of Batman's debut. I agree that's no reason to hate, but get your facts straight.

  • @TheDeTocquville

I'm aware of that. I'm refering to how burtonrules123 act like Batman Begins was a rip off of The Shadow film, when it's not. Yes, Batman comics was insipired by the Shadow, but Batman Begins hardly borrow from The Shadow film. They both are rich crime fighter & are vigliantes, but that it. They have different path of how they became who they are & they both have different way of fighting crimes. burtonrules123 just hate any Nolan's Bat films & make excuses on why.

  • @NW1977

  • best thing about this was tim curry's laugh at his final scene

  • batman begins was SUCH a ripoff of this *better* superhero movie.

  • @burtonrules123

Exactly how?? Last I check, Batman Begins is a copy from the Batman comics. Thus, The Shadow film copy Batman comics first instead, Peter Tancordo. Beside, Batman was never bad from the beginning like the Shadow. And he never have super powers. Thus, Batman Begins is not a rip off. Hate Batman Begins or The Dark Knight all you want, but don't be so biased to make up lies & excuses as on why you hate it. Batman Begins is not a rip off of The Shadow. And that is the truth.

  • i loved this movie as a kid, alec baldwin may have been a douche but he was slick in this movie!

  • it's amazing how many full movies are on youtube.

  • alec..

  • the uploader must have a thing for alex baldwin

  • Am I in hell?.......Not yet.

Thanks for this great film. Baldwin was ultra cool. Miller was hot. Great support from Lone, McKellan, Boyle, & Curry. Fabulous score from Jerry Goldsmith. This should have been hit out of the park.

  • Hahaha! The Purba is cool I also have one somewhere! ?

  • HEYY!!!! After Wu got shot! What did he SAY!!!

" Da So Kopla Ta gochemen"...wha? Anybody know? Why did all the whore and thieves, and dealers laugh..?? I THINK he said,"...and nobody on Youtube is going to know what I am saying in order to explain it to that guy who keeps asking what I just said...!" -shucks-

  • @ferroxian He says 'why would you trust a shadow'? The joke is that the name Ying Ko means 'shadow'.

  • @CountryBoyRoby

country...my friend...You have answered my question!!! It is a question that has plagued me for YEARS (Humm...two decades? There about!) Because you have done this for me, I will speak in your behalf...please choose wisely. ASK for that gift, that skill, or power, that remedy or solution, that you seek above all others, and I shall ask for you from my Father...I can ask and one must ask if one is to receive. You have honored me, I wish to honor you, Please respond..soon.

  • @ferroxian No thanks to the gift. Sorry, but I am wary of strangers bearing gifts after reading the Illiad. Those who don't remember history and all that jazz.

  • 4:53

Apperantly the temple was funded by Kobra Commander.

  • "The clouded mind sees nothing"

WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN

  • I love the radio show, especially when Cranston was played by Bret Morrison and Margo by Grace. I liked the lighthearted-ness. I love it when Margo and Lamont go to the commissioner's office and bug Weston. :D

  • I need the laugh as a ringtone for SMS

  • what is the shadow all skilled in other than clouding mens minds ?

  • Awesome film...thanks for the upload.

  • penelolpe ann miller makes me wanna be her shadow

  • OH my gosh! I haven't seen this since 4th/5th grade!! Thanx for the upload! :)

  • @perdedoronline oh your welcome

  • "The clouded mind sees nothing."

  • Very enjoyable watch!....thanks indeed for the upload!

  • I really want that knife.

  • I love Alec's laugh. He really nailed it.

  • what does he say at 3:41? can you translate that?

  • Hi! I like this movie and I will be able to enjoy this movie! I want to thank you from Japan !

  • @aw11bc5 your very welcome

  • Great show shadow thanks

  • I would so love to see this kind of back story for a revamped comic book story

  • I wonder when they are going to release this on Blu ray? It would be cool, maybe finally a widscreen transfer of the film.

  • @superman1749 pretty soon I would imagine. On this shadow website I'm a part of, the site owner told me someone has already ordered it on Blu-Ray and will be getting back to him about bonus features and stuff. :D

  • @superman1749 we NEEd a us release of this on BD!

  • the shadow vs the spirit.

  • @natureboyinyourface

    >_> for the movies... Shadow rules!

  • @orcarossa yay I feel special :D

  • miss those days really...thanks for the upload.

  • The opium lord back story is intriguing. Did the Shadow have an obscure criminal past in any of the source material? Just wondering.

  • @Secundas not really. But I think the FIlm Makers wanted to try soemthig new.

  • @Secundas: I was listening to an radio show on the history of the Shadow and nothing on that story. But maybe the pulp fiction novels may have listed something that they borrowed. I have listened to many episodes of the Shadow radio show and a few early ones had the shadow make the bad guys kill each other and of course it sounded like he enjoyed it w/ his maniacal laugh. Triva: Orson Wells and Agnes Moorhead (endora from Bewitched) were the Shadow and Margo Lane for a season.

  • @barrencross1969 That's cool; I dig the touch of evil the character has. I looked around and read somewhere that at some point in the show and/or novels there was reference to him having learned his mysterious arts in the Far East, though I don't think it was ever specified where or how, so I guess it fits.

  • Man I love this movie! One of my all time fave movies since I was a little kid :-)

Thanks for uploading! I can watch it here until I'm able to buy it.

  • Good quality videos, English language, complete movie, no subtitles: exactly what I was looking for.

I really appreciated this movie when I saw it at the time: they gave the Shadow the exact face he had on pulp covers and comic books. The 30s re-creation was gorgeous too.

  • One of my favorite movies. I was amazed when I went to see this movie how many people had never heard of The Shadow.

    Alec Baldwin was great.

I'd love to see another movie. I wonder who would be the right person for the part?

(I like Alec Baldwin but he's a little too old for the part)

  • I made a playlist for this movie... I hope you don't mind...

  • @damonkatumaru no please go right ahead :)

  • @xvxThexShadowxvx Good... Hahahahahah...HAhaHAhaHAHaHAHAHA~!

  • I love the radio show, best old radio show next to the Saint and Green Hornet! YAY 30's 40's and 50's radio....

  • Great name you got there, Shadow.

  • @shadow3772 thanks you too

  • iv been trying to get this movie on dvd and its like gold in shops and on line

  • It's just like Batman Begins! :O

  • The Shadow, The Phantom, The Rocketeer. Best Period Piece superheroes ever. While these movies had no sequels, right there is a great TRILOGY.

  • Arrogant Yanke gangsta about to get skooled.

  • I love how Jerry Goldsmith puts the Dies Irae into the music at 9:02. Genius. I always come back to this score. So sinister. Wish they'd release a 2-disc set of the scoring sessions, but with the film being a huge financial failure, it'd take producers interested enough in niche releases to pursue the rights. (As for the film, I wish it had a more consistent tone. After this part, it gets schizophrenically tongue-in-cheek.) Baldwin tries, but the only one helping him seems to be Goldsmith.

  • @CasualAnalyst Do you only have the original score with like 13 songs? Cause I've got the extended score uploaded here on youtube so if you want you can take a listen. If there's any you like just let me know and I'd be more than happy to help out a fellow Goldsmith fan and upload it to sendspace for you to download.

  • This remake better be the shit, when I first saw this movie I was 4 along with The Phantom with Billy Zane both movies were effin' awesome even today no matter what anyone says they were better in theaters though.

  • Awesome job TheShadow772, I was just browsing on here to see if this movie had been uploaded, cause if it hadn't I was going to upload it. Hope The new Shadow movie doesn't tank and foul up the legacy this one has!

  • @Lurkerwraith no problem and I know I hope the remake is good I wonder who they'll use

  • I like the Shadow , cause he reminds us of the old shcool

  • thank you for posting all these entertaining movies!

  • @northbeachfilms not a problem

  • 3:42 I guess this explains where he derived the idea for wearing a hat as the Shadow (the Occidental man in the hat).

  • The weed of crime bears bitter fruit!

  • Dam! Tim Curry is so sexy.

  • This is one of my favorite Alec Baldwin movies of all time!

    And it's a good movie.

  • Now THIS is the Alec Baldwin I remember from my formative years... not that fat, smirking husk on 30 Rock.

  • 4:57

  • Oh Yea! One of my favorite films when I was young =D

    The Sun is shining...

  • @TheIceIsSlippery ... but the ice is slippery...

  • This is an underrated comic book movie that never got its due. Fun script by David Koepp. Great production design, atmosphere and special effects that still hold up well today. Memorable score by the great Jerry Goldsmith. Good performances from John Lone, Alec Baldwin, Penelope Ann Smith and Tim Curry. The animated magical knife, the Perba, is also totally cool.

  • Did anybody else have the action figures when this movie came cause they were awesome!!

  • i remember when this came out i havn't seen this since i was 7

  • Such a shame this movie wasn't that big of a success when it was released. I enjoyed this movie as a kid, and at 23 I still love it.

  • Omg, dude you are awesome for posting this movie! I didn't think someone would post it! And I'm glad Youtube hasn't taken it down! They keep taking movies with big names off Youtube!

Anyway, thank you! If possible, more movies please!! >:D

  • @pygmyink sorry for late reply I was on vacation but your welcome glad you are enjoying the movies I had more movies up on previous accounts but then they got disabled so I won't be uploading any more movies just to be safe
