There's no walls on this set which in my opinion is a bit of a design flaw because in star wars Luke manages to blow the death star up from a hole that's about a foot wide :P. Great Lego set though...

theres one thing in the beginning I dont get, theres a little circle brick in the middle, but then he just rmoves it, and I cant see that he puts a plate on it, can someone please explain??

its a simple connector: seems that the circle bricks purpose is to connect the four base plates to create structural integrity. so it can be removed after the structure around the core has been built.
