It looks like most of the storm damage was mainly to the light sport variety of aircraft and though some heavier aircraft were damaged too, it was probably because the very light planes and pieces of them were crashing into the bigger planes that might have been unharmed otherwise.
@N137LA Yup, know about the Caravan. That seems to be the one exception that was victimized directly by the wind. Other than that, the storm managed to trash mainly the home-builts, light sport and some bush planes (of which one is a Husky out of Long Island NY that I'm personally familiar with). I don't know of any other more substantial planes that went flying or breaking up on their own.
damn mother nature!

@airste172 That's not entirely true. There was a Cessna Caravan flipped on its back.

Angels protected all people there 'cause no one was seriously hurt :)

@SimplySimsDesignDiva Too bad that the angels weren't gracious enough to extend the same protection to the aircraft.

We drove right by it, I saw tons of damage at Sun-N-Fun in person... my cam had just ran out of battery.
But, we saw a SEMI truck knocked over a 4x4 truck in the parking lot, ambulances everywhere, a plane upsidedown in the ditch, and tents crushed....
Amazingly today they continued on with the air show. We had planes flying low to the ground right over our house this morning.

Man...what a sad day for experimental aviation.

It's sad to see some of the toughest airplanes built like N60JA piled into a drumpled mess. Heartbreaking.
