The Korean word for "tiger" is "호랑이" (romanized to sound a bit like "ho rrang ee"). The 호랑 obviously is meant to signify "Horang" but the 2 is the tricky part. There are two ways to say numbers in Korean. The ever popular "hana dul set" is one way but there is another that goes along the lines of "il ee sam". The 2 in Horang2 is probably supposed to sound like the "ee". Horang2's name isn't a stupid combination of stupid letters and numbers but is actually a cool play on words
- The meaning of your ID Horang2 (Translators note: the 2 is pronounced ee. Horangee means tiger in Korean.)
▲ When I created this ID I was eating a lot of Frosted Flakes. I really loved eating it in middle school, but now I find it too sweet, haha. (Translators note: What a big LOL! TigerToss, TonyToss, CerealToss, the possibilities are endless!)
all taken from TL threads last part slightly paraphrased to be under 500 characters
No more Horang1 jokes there is no Horang1. The "2" is just so it can sound like "tiger" somehow in Korean. It's supposedly a clever way to say it. He also made his nick name mean tiger because he liked frosted flakes when he was a kid. You can find the interview where he said it on TL just search.
Also Light has had another interesting game, look up Light vs Fantasy.
i acually think he build the citadel in that position to let it get scouted by the terran so he wouldn't search for another hidden pylon on the map, because in that exact moment, he started building the pylon in his base.

That's an ironic thing to say as you watch a professional Starcraft game between players who spend their lives and livelihoods playing Starcraft. I mean, I think WoW is boring as hell, but Starcraft is better because it's a better game, not because it doesn't "consume your entire life."
"That's an ironic thing to say as you watch a professional Starcraft game between players who spend their lives and livelihoods playing Starcraft."
Actually you just bastardized the conception of what it means to be "ironic". My original statement was addressing how WoW players consume their lives with the game, not the occasion to watch pros play a game as I do on YouTube. Your analogy is misguided and flawed.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
You fail it. The irony (or, if you prefer, hypocrisy) is that you disparage a game for a flaw as you observe that same flaw in the game you promote. While there may be WoWtards who exclusively play WoW, there certainly aren't entire professional leagues as there are for Starcraft. The incongruity (even opposition) between your comment and reality makes your comment ironic. And besides that, your comment was just wrong; for many, Starcraft IS a lifestyle, and is certainly a livelihood for a few.
"The irony (or, if you prefer, hypocrisy) is that you disparage a game for a flaw as you observe that same flaw in the game you promote."
You still don't see where you went wrong. This statement is a testament to how your accusation of irony has failed. You simply don't understand what you are talking about.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
And you, apparently, don't deign explain it. I understand perfectly what I'm talking about. If you want to disagree, maybe you should say something with substance. Until then, it's pretty obvious that SC players can treat SC just as much like a lifestyle as WoW players, WoW. You were wrong, and then just threw around a bunch of random ad hominnems.
"SC players can treat SC just as much like a lifestyle as WoW players, WoW."
I never contested this point. I said previously that this statement "an ironic thing to say as you watch a professional Starcraft game between players who spend their lives and livelihoods playing Starcraft." is in fact NOT ironic because you missed the point.
You are very lost. Also you bastardized the conception of an "ad hominem" as well. You really keep digging a hole for yourself.
You said, "You simply don't understand what you are talking about." That is clearly an ad hominem. It doesn't address my argument at all, but merely attacks my knowledge of it. Now you're going to tell me I'm not educated because you dislike my definition of "irony." I didn't question your inability to correctly form parallel clauses or your misplacement of prepositional phrases. What the fuck is the point of fastidiously copyediting Youtube comments?
"That is clearly an ad hominem. It doesn't address my argument at all, but merely attacks my knowledge of it."
Wrong. An "ad hominem" is where I attack you as opposed to addressing your points. You have shown your ignorance in these matters so I am not using this as a substitution for my argument. This is where you fail to understand what an actual "ad hominem" is, hence our misunderstanding.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
If you expect me to believe that your statement "The definition of irony doesn't depend on my liking your use of it or not" is clearer than my first comment, then we will never understand each other. How about " . . . this is not the point of contention to be drawn from our misunderstanding?" How do you draw contention from a misunderstanding? This whole debate is ridiculous. And you haven't even provided an actual definition of "irony." I maintain your comment exemplifies situational irony.
"I maintain your comment exemplifies situational irony."
Am I to understand that you think that I believe it's possible to have irony without a subjective context or "situation"? If you do, then I don't see how you hold this against me.^^
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Of course there is a context. Irony extends beyond verbal irony, and includes incongruity or hypocrisy in intent and in reality or in description and in reality, especially when that incongruity or hypocrisy is characteristic of "perverse appropriateness." This is often summarized as "when the literal truth is in direct discordance to the perceived truth." This is exactly what I am describing in my comment, and even if you find a dictionary that does not support it, it is certainly common usage.

That's from Websters dictionary. You satisfy at least the second: you attacked my word choice, and later my education, rather than my actual argument.
You, yet again, fail to understand. I didn't use my comment "You simply don't know what you are talking about." in place of my argument for you.
Before one can have an argument, there must be common understanding as to what the contention is. This is where you debase yourself and show your ignorance before the conversation even started. I tried to point this out but you are not grasping the fundamental issue here.
Who the hell uses the Webster dictionary when the OED is available?

People use Websters who do not pay the $30 per month subscription fee for the OED, or people who live in America where Websters is the standard. But it doesn't matter; you have now gone beyond merely debating word choice to the point where you are literally debating my choice of dictionary to justify my words.
I think I clearly understand your contention, and that is that WoW sucks because people make it into a lifestyle. I contend that you cannot uphold this without disliking Starcraft, too.

In what way does my analogy not hold? I think it is pretty self explanatory: players of both games make it a lifestyle, yet you single one out to ridicule for this. Do you claim SC pros DON'T make it a lifestyle? That would be absurd. But I can't understand what else you could disagree with. In all these posts you still merely say my analogy doesn't hold without spending a single word explaining exactly HOW it doesn't. You can't just say something is true and expect that to end the argument.
