thanks so much for the info.. i was planning on changing the pickups of a squier deluxe strat with fletcher landaus... was wondering if setting all three positions with it was the way to go..
and studying at MI.. that musta been brilliant... did you study under Scott Henderson??? i'm asking cuz ur phrasing is pretty sweet...
Clapton is and will always be up there with BB King , Freddie King , Albert King and Albert Collins !!! To compare anyone with any of these giants is not on !!!! Clapton is one of those guitarists who created a wave and lead the British blues invasion of guitarists including Alvin Lee , Peter Green , Mick Taylor , Stan Webb etc who gave us their take on the blues which is what eventually led to a lot of the rock music which bands today even cant live up to .
Ehsaan: You've outplayed Clapton. Eric can't play like this..he's far more basic. You actually sound alot more like Larry Carlton. Absolutely brilliant! Best Wishes!
dimahtani7: Were you ever at an Eric Clapton concert in Birmingham UK/1976 when he encouraged the audience to "get all the Pakis & wogs out of Britain"? I tell you, i WAS there! You don't know the full story about your IDOL, so don't tell me i should THINK before commenting. Clapton is a pretender.
dimanhtani7: Go learn some pentatonic/mixolydian scales before commenting on the Blues. 'The Rolling Stone' guitar polls also vote guys like Lou Reed, Neil Young, Kurt Cobain & Johnny Marr ABOVE masters of guitar like Danny Gatton or Roy Buchanan.(WTF??) Maybe you should THINK before commenting?
dimahtani7: I grew up in London. I'm 58yrs old and saw Clapton first in 1967...my friend got his autograph. Back then Eric had a KILLER tone but that was down to a Les Paul/ Marshall amp rig. I've seen Hendrix, Clapton, Trower all the greats. How many have YOU seen in Singapore? Yes, Clapton plays all those instruments BUT what does he play on them? He plays the SAME 3 riffs he learnt in 1967. Even when Eric attempts jazz he plays the same 3 riffs.
dimahtani7: Those polls have never given an accurate assessment. Most people like you only know the ONE guitarist and that's Eric Clapton but there are kids in music shops all over the World who can smoke Eric! Just look at Eric's "Crossroads" videos. Everybody outplays him on those..Vince Gill, Albert Lee, Derek Trucks, Sonny Landreth..even Steve Winwood.
dimahtani: You accuse me of being IGNORANT! I ask you..do YOU know what REAL Blues IS? Do you think it's connected to John Mayer or Clapton? This is a brand of "pop Blues" played by posers. wannabes, who learnt from REAL Blues guitarists like T Bone Walker , Freddie,BB & Albert King, Otis Rush, Muddy and John Lee. I've SEEN the originals and it takes more than Clapton or a British "wannabe" to impress me. So PUHleeeese keep your comments to yourself, loser.
Hi, I'm pretty much into the blues as well (mostly Clapton-esque blues) so I really liked what you put up. Because I mostly play alone, I wanted to know how I could get some good blues backing tracks like the ones you're using to help me improvise and practice. Also, any suggestions on how I could get my picking dynamics etc to come through on a solid state amp?
hey Ehsaan truly awesome...u guys changed the sound of bollywood music for the better... iam a big big fan of the trio...hopefully would get a chance to meet u guys in person someday and jam up with u...cheers... ur doing us proud...
Superb playing bro glad to hear you back and rocking with the band. The thing is you get the sound with any of your configurations of the hundred pedals you have thats the super part

hi ehsaan, i am a blues guitarist for New Zealand, indian origin
I like the tone, pretty cool but why didn't you try playing on the 2nd pick up position that will give you a nice glassy deep swampy tone
have you tried the Semour Duncan Vintage Staggered SSL-1 strat pickups, its got that classic 52 strat tone
i've got that in my cumstom made strat which has the 70's heavy Swamp Ash body, and a custom shop neck
i'll may be upload some vedios of it
have fun mate and live the Blues

as big a fan of ehsaan as i am, it's an exaggeration to say that he "outplayed Clapton"
you surely have not heard Clapton's music or are just plain ignorant
i admire ehsaan for his knowledge and skill. believe me, i'm a big fan
"Eric can't play like this..he's far more basic."
puh-lease. he's not in the rolling stones' top living guitarists for nothing
Eric Clapton plays all the aspects of blues, playing the dobro, electric, acoustic, as well as classical. Please think before commenting

Great tone - though I prefer you and es-339. Where do you get the backing tracks? And is that a 5 watt Laney, or 20? Any pedals? Great stuff.
