Great commercial—we use 7th Gen cleaning products and paper towels in our home. I disagree with one viewer's comments about the narrator's voice. I think her voice was fine for this.
Is that a modern dymaxion house in the end? I've always wondered about that when I see the commercial on TV.
@theuprocker Another good reason to live where we can speak freely. :-). No, it isn't, we wanted to portray that our homes are as important as Earth...hence, Potecting Planet Home
How refreshing to see an ad for cleaning products that features men, women, and children using the products, rather than the normal cleaning product trope of "cleaning is Mom's job". It makes me that much happier to have been a longtime user of this brand. Nicely done.
Sue here and I will share your comments on the commercial, glad you saw it and cared enough to speak up. I have also been a Decade user of the products, same as my anniversary with the company.
Congrats on your first commercial, 7th Gen!!! Your time has come to shine! GREAT PRODUCTS, beautiful shots, HORRIBLY inauthentic narrator, whose grating voice doesn't match 7th Gen's purity. PLEASE have someone more genuine do the voiceover for the next spot - decade-long customer Hil
I'm so happy to see this TV ad. I have been promoting this for a year now. I don't have kids but I have two wonderful cats I love as kids. I feel so happy knowing that not only am i keeping chemicals away from my cats but also from myself. And my friends daughter when she comes over.
@bluefoxking Sue here. Progress and competition are all good, I agree. As for seaworthiness, you might want to engage a support of some kind, so the house doesn't roll and get wet inside, :-)
That is totally gonna be my first house. It's ROUND! That is so awesome. I wonder if it's sea ready :) I love the fact that more companies are coming out with earth friendly products. The more the merrier, in my book. Competition promotes progress.
Sue here about the house: I wish it was a real physical house, I want to live in it. And when you think of a living home, connected with Earth, we can imagine that it is in the shape of Earth, I love the idea!!
As for the dog, since this was meant to be a family based commercial, to us it seemed natural to include the dog in the car, for a ride to safely dispose of the toxic cleaners at the hazardous waste facility. Let me know if you would like to discuss anything else, Sue
@KwixAK This is Sue and happy to tell you that we do have a concentrated, biodegrading cleaner, available in Lavender or Free & Clear (without scent) The bottle is at least 25% post consumer recycled materials and it works well. Let me know if any questions.
Part 2 of the 5 Sec Rule.Dr. Alan Greene, practicing pediatrician and best-selling author of Raising Baby Green and Feeding Baby Green, says: More often than not, parents regard the 5 second rule in times of stress or urgency. Though certainly not ideal, it is less likely to cause harm to health when floors and surfaces are cleaned with effective non-toxic products such as those made by Seventh Generation.
We appreciate your concern about the 5 sec rule. The 5 second rule in general is not scientifically proven, yet it is more of a cultural reference point regarding personal and environmental well-being and convenience. We certainly do not recommend eating off of floors or other similar behavior, however, the ad was designed with the reality of parenthood in mind.
I love how it's packaged in plastic and not available in bulk sizes or concentrate! Nothing says "save the earth" like filling a landfill with used bottles after transporting diluted cleaners in them halfway across the country.
I'll stick to my concentrated and biodegradable Simple Green.
I love the commercial AND Seventh Generation. It's time to get the word out. I feel so much better knowing what I am doing, thanks to you. Let others know what they can do, too.
I like the video, but the reference to the 5 second rule is unfortunate...it has been proven that the rule is bogus. So, in order to be more credible you might want to change that. Otherwise the clip sounds good.
Awesome ad I use your products so much... I use your detergent on my cloth diapers and your diapers when I am not using my cloth diapers!! I love the dish detergent too!! Thanks so much for setting such a good example for other companies out there... you can be green without compromising quality!!
What version of Furr is this? It's not the LP version.

I'm usually somewhat sad to see my favorite bands get featured in mainstream commercials.
BUT, I must admit, this song fits very nicely with the commercial.
