So I HAVE A ECU PROBLEM....for my 1986 Mitsubishi Starion stock, after getting a new O2 sensor, i can't produce boost from the turbo, only 0psi. is it the ECU not reading it and is on a safety mode? how to reset such a ECU?
Remember ... This is for INFORMATIONAL pourpuse only..... You were driving me nutssss and all the info is very accurate i know cuz im a electromechanic
My car wouldnt start the injectors were not firing but they were working everything was working but the injectors so i changed the ignition coil but no luck. after a lot of f@#%ing around i decided to see how to reset the computer. All i did was turn ignition on & pulled the ecm fuse out put it back in & it started sweeeet. A mechanic would have charged $100's
in case of a hondas.. OBD1 ecm (before 1996)... its best to heat up the engine... then do the disconnect then idle 15 minutes or at least until the radiator fan turns on twice and important without touching any electrical device as much less the acelerator pedal... then turn off and it records values --- then after a few runs (days/weeks depending on how may start stop cycles take place) it will start to make final adjustments
ramsay, don't be a D**K... He's covering his butt because a yahoo might try and sue him... Do you know these procedures don't work? He's trying to share potential information, what are you doing to further energy research?
i almost feel stupid to ask if you tried any of these on your car; you would not be posting the video. does it mean that using an EFIE is no longer necessary?
What does an ECM do inconjunction with an Automatic gearbox, having problems putting it into D the car shunts and does so while driving (the box changing gear)? what would the ECM be need for in this sittuation?
@rustyfan022000 Got the problem sorted out awhile back it was a solinoid valve in the gearbox that was faulty (if I remember right) causing the the car to shunt. think it was found with a T2 test (unsure)...
Hey Steve greta stuff keep up the greta work and i will notify you tube about those three, im sure someone else has also but i will two. Ive learned a lot from you and others on you tube. I hope to put one in my 2002 ford focus soon. Currently i get 24 mpg around town. I think i can do better
Thanks for the info, Do I still need to use devices to adjust the O2 sensor and a MAF sensor, and what about diesel engines, what would I need to do there? Thanks for the help!
HHO is what it is also called browns fuel...if you drive a gasoline powered car you may be able to increase your fuel economy...do a search on ebay for hho...it works well for me and have seena a 25% increase in my mileage...after about 4 months of use...and you also get an IRS refund for creating a Hybrid...drive your car and your exhaust is much cleaner...
Hi Steve can I use you video on my site as I have said befor... DO you have a garage near to you that installs LPG Liquide Propane Gas you know Autogas they have a program that can alter the ECU/ECM. Well they do it for this gas? Because I have not got this program YET because I have only just found this info and can not aford £400.and my resurch has still left me in the red after selling just 3 full units in 12 mths can I copy your video please? :)
DO you have a garage near to you that installs LPG Liquide Propain Gas you know Autogas they hava a progrham that can alter the ECU. Well they do it for this gas?
I have a 97 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I only had to install HHO and it went from 19 to 25 mpg. I also have an 05 Honda Civic..I have mixed results with this. Currently I have a Map sensor enhancer working. I am soon to install a dry cell for better HHO to see if that will get me back to my high of 52 mpg. I am currently at 40 mpg with HHO input, Map to lean, etc. I am currently trying to determine if an ifie can be installed on the A/F sensor.
DO you have a garage near to you that installs LPG Liquide Propain Gas you know Autogas they hava a progrham that can alter the ECU. Well they do it for this gas?
Actually this is not the case with every make and model. Some people have done tests showing that hydroxy does not change whether the engine runs lean or not. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesnt.
Personally I am going to test my ranger and see if the O2 voltage changes or not, when hydroxy is present in the ice or not.
Injecting the hydrogen before or after the maf doesn't make a difference. You ecu is reading of your o2 sensors, before your cat and after. You maf mostly tells the ecu what the temp and amount of air is coming in.
I did a combination of things. Seems that disconnecting the battery positive & neg wires, then holding them together, and then pulling the ecm/ecu fuses, seems to work (not 100% sure tho).
Of course thats the problem with this ecu thing - there is no indicator or light that says "your ecm is now reset".
thank you very much for all this info I don't know if one of this steps will work on my tahoe 2004 5.3L If you can give me some advise wichone it will work better that would be great thank you very much
to be honest I dont know what will work for your vehicle - I am just testing this on my vehicle and havent installed on anyother vehicles.
Now "IF" I had to start over I would go for a dry cell because they have high output, very good mmw and are really good when it comes to heat (they stay pretty cool even when you put a lot of amps in em).
A MAP sensor does not detect oxygen. It detects minute changes in negative manifold pressures, or "vacuum". There is virtually no way to inject hho "after" the MAP sensor since it is on the "manifold" itself. A MAF, or "Mass air Flow Sensor" Detects the temp of the air in the intake tube. It does not detect oxygen. Warm=less fuel, and cold = more fuel added. Adding hot hho before the maf sensor should show better mpg.
what mix are you using in the HHO cell...I have done a bit with this and at first also had a meltdown till I adjusted my mix...you need to run Distilled Water and I use a quart jar for my cell and I am using about a 1/4 tsp of baking soda...try it and see if you do not have any more meltdowns...also the unit runs much cooler...
great work sir! it is very admirable that you care enough to take the time to share your research with the rest of us AlmostHydrogen.
Thanks once again!
i disconnect first the negative terminal, then disconnect the positive terminal from the battery, turn the ignition to the on position to drain any power in the system, wait 5 minutes, then connect everything in reverse order. this clears the ecu memory & system error codes (engine check light). so far, it has worked on all engines for me. ;-)
Great video Steve and might I add to be very careful around the ECM/PCM as these systems use some very low voltages that are almost undetectable if you are not using the right multimeter or do not have a good engine ground.
I suggest using a good autosenseing multimeter that will adjust from millivolts to volts, or to use a meter and start out at the lowest voltage setting.
Also, be careful as some vehicles will use the negative lead to short out the ECM while others use the positive lead.
I have an automotive shop and I would only recommend that you research a little more about resetting your ECM while having the ignition on as this can short your computer. Also while resetting your ECM does force your computer to "relearn" if you are injecting HHO before your mass air flow sensor, in oher words through your air intake, you should not have to have your computer "relearn" anything. Would like to hear back if you have any questions
Thats why I said this was for informational purposes only - there seems to be so many variables when it comes to this resetting the ECM stuff (so use at your own risk).
Since you have more experience than me in this area, feel free to add whatever tips or advice. Every little bit helps.
Thanks for the INFO! Smack mentioned somthing like this in one of his Ranger HHO videos. Will try on my 1990 Jeep. Not sure if this is for sure but I heard that before ECMs depending a what part of the world, climate, elevation the vehicle was expected to operate in involved having the appropreate carburetor setup for that area.
this may actually work onsome cars. It is more likely to work on cars 98 and older. 99 and newer processors were updated to use sequential injectionand ignition. Give it a try its worth the shot. Ecm reset restarts fuel trim at leaner settings. If you replace all upstream o2 you have a better chance of it working. the faster and fresher the o2 the leaner the overall fuel trim will be. Use bosch o2 they have the fastest switching times.

I close the full air flow that go to the engine and i live small hole and black smock star cumming out,
so i put map/maf into maf sensor and 1lpm hho and I turn MAP Sensor Enhancer all down and the car turn on. no smock from 500 to 600rpm very nice.
we almost no gasoline, we are using to much gasoline and all cars. oil business.
I believe that we don't need 300 or 400 lpm of hho like people saying.

I think doing it right would get you better MPG. Buy an MAP sensor on Ebay or something...
asusreviews 3 years ago
That could be, but first you have to determine if any electronics are needed.
I know some people who have spent lots of money on electronics that they did not need.
Thats why I am doing my testing step by step - to see what is needed and what is not for my particular vehicle.
I wish it was simple, but its not.

I really like your Web Page very helpfull, Thank you for putting it out....I'm New @ this, do you
have to use a PWM? When I run my cell on bench it runs for 3hours before it get hot and blows
@30amp fuse. Prouduction is about 1 or 1&1/2 Letters a min. But when I put it in my Truck it get
up to 30 amps in 30 min driving. And blows fuse. Will a PWM fix this??.. Ran Ski p.s. don't think
my old 85chev pu has @ ECM haha
RanSki44 3 years ago
Isn't this the reason they say to inject the hydrogen AFTER the MAF sensor so it won't do what you say?
rbrashear68 3 years ago
Map sensor = manifold absolute pressure.
Adding hot hho before the maf sensor should show better mpg.
good luck!
