  • They stopped issueing KA BARS to the Marine Corps. :(

  • @SoCalAirs0ft what do they issue now?

  • @turbofister5000 Some SOG fixed blade. It's like half the price, and it's made in China.

    Disgusting huh?

  • love this. Probably gonna get an Ontario sp46 and sp52 before this one, but I definitely wouldn't mind having one of these.

  • I just Looove the COLOUR !! it would be just splendid with my green curtains and blue slacks !

  • Do you always have to kick a dead horse? Man stop being a blow hard and get to the point. I don't know why I end up watching your post. You lost me with picking the Aimpoint over the Eoteck and you still don't get it. Just tell the fact's and cut out the babble.

  • Nice presentation. Made me want to go buy one.

  • The blade is from 1942

  • I have my great grandpas WWII Ka bar knife im proud to own it and will not be selling it

  • I was able to score mine online today for $48.00 bucks including free shipping. goo (DOT) gl/H9yOc

  • Lol "More cooler"

  • wow this is an old nutnfancy vid!

  • would u recommend the stacked leather or the kraton handle for hunting purposes and survival?

  • @M40Hawkeye I carry my personal Kraton handle black KA-BAR into combat (with my Ek Commando), I say Kraton. The leather is more comfortable with gloves, but the Kraton is more durable.

  • take the *%&#$ thing out!!!!

  • @screwdriverhammer please point your attention to the top comment good sir.

  • @BeLikeSeCeL thank you

  • @BeLikeSeCeL Edit: I don't know if you're mocking me or being respectful, but in any case i apologize for any inconvenience i caused. I was just expressing my feelings at the moment, and i'd seen the top comment. Peace.

  • @screwdriverhammer not mocking dont worry

  • Becouse of he need to die before the opponent.

  • Why he takes so long to pull the knife?

  • Another good job on the KABAR review.

  • Is the ka bar Becker bk2 a good wood splitter

  • I like the original it does the job,,,

  • little to much indepth in my opinion........good review still the same....but some times just get to the point.......

  • @mindblown76 theres tons of videos that are basic by some 10 year olds, but this is for people who really want to know their knife.

  • i need to split someones face wide open .. what do you recomend???

  • @orejuelaricardo hell ya

  • @orejuelaricardo not a knive......

  • I found a next gen on ebay and I noticed right away the blade looked smoother than the others and there was no number below the "USA" stamp, I thought it might be the blasted version so I jumped on it. I just got it today and my suspicions were correct, it is indeed 'Ol Blasty. I paid $80, not bad for an extinct blade.

  • maniac of knifs hahaha

  • whats the model number on the 1999 kabar

  • I love my Ka-Bar sooo much

  • hey nutn i need a good knife to take to alaska what should i get

  • is the Sage Green knife in the beginning the Ka-Bar 5012 Utility Knife?

  • I have a serrated black ka-bar and it's unbelievable dull. How do you recommend I sharpen it for combat purposes?

  • can you make a video of you stabbing your self with this? or perphaps you playing five finger fillet. Pls reply

  • I put on this video and my brother got goosebumps

  • Please test the big brother!

  • Reason for loosing upper part of guard it is not really required & allows you to work thumb over the blade for greater pressure

Plus choke hold the knife one or two fingers forward of the guard thumb above for finer blade control on small jobs.

440 Stainless is very hard to sharpen so is 420, 430 is softer AUS 8 stainless would make it a great blade.

  • thumb up if battlefield somehow got you here

  • i got a 3 pc katana set for 0nly 50 dollars, 10-something carbon steel

  • I have one of those but it cost me 400$ Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

  • I love his video, but it kills me every time he talks about WD40.. seriously, thats like a man in the shop out in the backyard who cant work without using an industrial style of fueled fire. (i mean some high tech gas burning heater) i hate being dependent on things for simple tasks..

  • good review, thanks

  • do you like the 1095s or the next gen

  • It looks grey. Maybe its just my monitor.

  • i would rather have the high carbon steel ka bar

  • it's not great for woodsplitting because it's made for splitting skulls haha ;)

  • wats wrong with the WWII version?

  • do you prefer the leather handle of the kraton handle.. anyone can weigh in i need help in deciding i think the leather ones are more ascetically pleasing but i think the kraton will hold up more

  • @douglas0929 I highly prefer the kraton handle. Better grip, and it will last you longer outdoors

  • @Dedicated222Duty I heard that overtime people who have dealt with Kraton blades have reported it gets a foul odor from it, others have reported theirs became tacky/gooey and that they could pry it off with their fingernail. Your thoughts? I could go both ways with either leather or Kraton.

  • @TAYL0R16 Hm i don't know about the fould odor part, mine's never smelled bad after a little over a year of taking it on backpacking and camping trips. But i can vouch for the tacky gooey part, after a while of use, the handle CAN become somewhat nasty.

  • @douglas0929 is kraton handle high quality?

  • my friend this is wut i want for christmas :DDDDD

  • I was just about to ask if you can use wd 40 but you just answered this as i was typing!

  • Something different for yall, Finnish army's version of a knife. See video response.

  • What do you mean that's not really good?! that top guard pisses me the hell off!!! I took mine off of all of my ka bars: makes for a better grip and you can choke up on it more for finer work

  • thats mine!!!! =D

  • Why do you talk about the sheath's? That has nothing to do with the knife... Thats like talking about your brand new computer you just built, and spend 80% of the time talking about the case. What a tool.

  • 4:48 to see the knives.

  • 4:47 i never thought id see the day...

  • is the buck 120 a good wood splitter?

  • anyone knows a place to buy kabrs in nyc?? i know theyre made there but where should i go?? please help

  • @alezatf If you can't find one in a shop i'd say to go online and try to pick one up depending on the laws

  • @sandythebear no the problem is that i dont live in nyc, i need to tell my brother to pick it up but i need to give him an adress or at leats the name of a store. im not in the us so i cant order online.

  • @alezatf ah, gander mountain sportsmans warehouse places like that can typically carry usmc kabars, thats all i can say haha sry

  • damn, the back of the blade looks pretty thick, probably about 2.5 - 3mm?

  • did you sharpen the top end of the blade?

  • i got one from cutco. i got it for arond 1.70

  • man cant wait geting a kabar tanto tomorow

  • i just bought mine from a guy who had a whole bunch of them and wanted to get rid of them. it was never used (it was still in the plastic bag thing) and it only cost me 55 euros! It is indeed a great knife, i got the model 1222. It feels very comfortable if you knwo what i mean.

  • every kabar i get the blade is kind of bent from the tang to the left... is this normal????

  • Please, please, get yourself an Aitor oso negro/blanco or camo. They are so so so good.

  • he takes the knife out at 4:49

  • @NoCigar0 Thank you for saving me 4 minutes and 29 seconds of my life.

  • @NoCigar0 Big Thanks

  • @NoCigar0 appreciate it

  • @NoCigar0 rofl, n1

  • i like the 2004 sheath

  • @nutnfancy Does the handle is bigger on the next gen? (sorry for my english)

  • does somebody knows a web page were i can buy some knives?

  • @romanianfirefox the brand is ka-bar

  • he takes the knife out at 4:48

  • check out the latest D2 steel version..basically indestructabke, same sheath , comes in silv-powder coat or black tiox.....I found the wood splitting to be remarkable, and yes....it is wedge shaped!....you would be surprised if you're doing it right......toughness and wear resistance cant be beat,,, only negative is a little hard to sharpen but not as hard as sv30!......good stuff all around!!

  • @romanianfirefox um ka bar makes it, ka bar is its own brand

  • @jamiesxe cutco owns ka bar

  • It's NOT PRONOUNCED OLEEN, It's Pronounced ohli-an..I know I from there and ka-bar is made by cutco. I know that too I print Ka-Bar's catologs

  • the 1211 is WAYYY more sexy then that thing :P

  • I saw an actual test of one of these next gen kabars, it took considerable damage whereas some other knives of same caliber just went unscathed. People, don't fall victims for ads.

  • my Combat Knife Could LITERALY KUT Someones Head OFF

  • at 5:15 you can see the tang. I wouldnt buy it...

  • @apdapd2 you're supposed to..... don't worry about the blade coming out of the handle, its got a solid steel retension pin in there

  • Got any model/product numbers on these tools?

  • hey i no you probly wont have time to reply but if anyone els can help me im looking for a survival knife that i can use for about everything. I want it to be under $150 please help

  • @WildLifeGuy308 Cold steel recon scout

  • @WildLifeGuy308 A very good survival knife, for the money, is the Ontario ASEK knife. It is a true military survival escape knife. Made in the USA. About $100 on eBay. Shop around for the best price (including shipping). I hope this helps.

  • military grade snap lol

  • I have the origional knife and the upgraded one. I love em both. KA-BAR makes possibly makes the best knives.

  • i found a marine combat knife that was in great condition!! it cam in a sheath along with a flint block to start fires and it had a compass on the bottom of the handle wich unscrewed and it had unused matches in it it was great find and the blade had no rust i was lucky to find it

  • 4:50 is when he pulls one out

  • If I'm bidding on eBay...is there a way to know if I'm getting the bead blasted blade instead of the painted blade..i.e. a separate model number?

  • OPEN IT!!!

  • go to 4:51 if you want to see the knife

  • Personaly I do not like saw blades on my knives because I like to cut things with that part of the blade. "strings, split kindling, shavings for fire, severing rope, etc."

In Korea the brass suggested that we aquire a double edged blade for a combat knife. I do not recall what we were issued, but obviously not a double edged blade. I love those old k-bar surplus knives. They held an edge, which is more than can be said for modern knives. I have even given up on boker, and uncle Henry.

  • How fast does it stab in Bad Company 2?

  • @BallsInYourJawsBitch Nerd -.-

  • Does he ever open it? the handle is nice but i want to see the blade darn it!

  • Iam a combat freak aleart at all times and i cant get enough of your videos! Best

  • in Estonia ka-bars cost 76,69 euros.

  • for future Kabar vids, Olean NY is pronounced O-Lee-Anne. nice vid tho, thanks

  • This isn't used y the US Marine Corps. The Ontario Knife Company 3s was introduced as the Marine corps combat knife in 2003. It is 1095 carbon steel, and has a kydex sheath. It runs about 100 bucks. This Ka-Bar "Marine combat knife" was never used by the US Marine Corps. I am both an aspiring Marine and knife enthusiast.

  • @TheUSMC2017 On December 9, 1942, after the start of World War II, KA-BAR submitted a fighting knife to the United States Marine Corps in hopes that it would become general issue to that branch of the military. Working in conjunction with the Marine Quartermaster Department a design was devised and soon production was under way on a new and improved combat knife for Marines.Go to KABARs site for the rest of the FACTS before writing stupid shit about things you know nothing about

  • @Epinephrine818 First off all, no need to be an asshole. Second of all, this isn't the design that was used by the US Marines. The one that was used was made of 1095 carbon, and did not have the kydex sheath. The handle was made of hardwood (Like it shows on Kabar.com) and the sheath was made of nylon or leather.

  • i've got an inch long beard by the time knife got out of sheares

  • LOOOOOL IT TOOK 5MIN! 5MINS! yu kno to much about knifes...

  • Dont be dicks. This is a great review thanks for explaining my new knife. Your the only video to warn about water, thanks again for that, I had no idea

  • a knife is a knife... dosent matter if its old as long as it kills and maks my dinner

  • I have a nine and a half inch Ka-Bar and good luck trying to beat me if knife chicken :D

  • ja das ist gut messer

  • I don't care what you say, an old wooden framed Ka-Bar is way cooler.

  • @Belonpopo that is also true i like both styles

  • @Belonpopo its leather but yeah. way cooler

  • nutnfancy love ur channel. i am going to be getting a new knife to call my own. I am 15 and this is new to me(that is getting a knife to call my own) and its going to be a ka-bar gotta love it

  • Nutn, gotta love the Ka-Bar USMC. I know you don't watch other vids, but I know Miss Veri does. Love your vids. Everytime I see one of these it always reminds me of: "Grease gun Ka-Bar by myside, these are the tools that'll make men die". Ran in cadence to that many, many times. Thank you sir.

  • Just got this one today at the army surplus brand new.

  • I love my Ka-bar...However the newer sheaths are nice...Mine is splitting on me...On the side of the sheath where the two pieces meet just split in some areas...I'll probably do something more about it later...For now I just have the sheath wrapped up in a bit of electrical tape.

  • Why does that kabar have a strap on the sheath the way the edge points? In my experience those straps usually end up getting cut after drawing the knife. Now, the cold steel trailmaster has the strap on the spine side of the sheath, much smarter.

  • are kabar knives the best in the combat knife business? he sayd it is good for the money but what is the gneneral consensus with the best knives?

  • whats the best kabar knife?

  • @tigerfan1211 the old 9 not the new ones if u ask me all kabars fail in comparison to it

  • I got another question: Is better the serrated or plain edge for the KA-BAR Next Generation Knife?

  • @darknuke96 I'm always finding myself being limited by the serrations on a knife. In my opinion, they are useless. serrations belong on a saw, not on a knife. There is nothing a sharp straight edge knife cant do, that a serrated knife can, but with serrations you are loosing realestate on your cutting edge. Not to mention they are hard to sharpen.

  • Comment removed

  • @Southern661 Yea, that is true!

  • @darknuke96 The sharpest part on a knife is right infront of the handguard, this is supposed to be razor sharp. You should be able to shave hair with one pass. If you dont have time to sharpen your knife for whatever reason, that will still be sharp, to cut things in a hurry. With serrations, you do not have this feature.

  • @Southern661 I disagree with you. You do need need serrated blades, especially for rope. A straight edge will cut a rope, but it takes a lot more work. Serrated edges are more efficient with certain jobs.

  • Wich is better: a 1095 USMC KA-BAR fighting knife or a Next Generation KA-BAR 440A stainless fighting knife?

    PLEASE ANSWER ME!

  • By 1:48 I was like, "OPEN THE GOD DAMN SHEATH!!!"

  • @smoothanyone 2:01 for me!

  • @smoothanyone --NutN will end up doing speeches in WaDC :P He has a good rethoric attitude :P Best from Spain.

  • @smoothanyone you and me both

  • cut rope ? split wood ? that's for killing gooks, man !! :P

  • @clustergarde dude grow up come on that was 35+ years ago, gooks are known as vietnamese people now so cut the shit with your goddam blatant racism it's not cool anymore

  • @clustergarde combat/utility.......aaaaaaaaaaahhh

  • I have one of the 1095 carbon steel USMC combat knives by Ka Bar. Hardwood handle and carbon steel butt cap. I would trust it with my life.

By the way, the Marines' Ka Bar is being phased out. They now use the Ontario Knife Company's OKC3S. It's 13 inches long overall and can pierce body armor, due to it being double sided. It would run you about $100. A bit too much for me.

  • Well having a fascination for upper end blades isn't in itself a bad thing but as you've said frequently "getting a lot of knife for the money" is in itself good. haha I'm learnding!

  • lol splitting wood? These are for slaying bodies

  • @TheDoggyProductions Its a tool, it can be used for anything, its good at both of those.

  • i have a ww2 usmc ka bar it was my grandpas knife its awesome still works like a champ dont wanna mess it up though so i stopped using it

  • zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz, just get ém out, dude... Stop talking!!

  • Next generation or 1095 for military use?

  • @kastek9v either one will work fine

  • hey nutnfancy

are rambo knife even good ?

  • Comment removed

  • hey nutn how about a review of the kabar bull dozier?

  • Heyy Doez anybody kno da name of the Kabar Knife Thatz black and it has a oval hole in the blade?

  • where do i get one of these?

  • I hate sheaths like that. There is NO reason for the strap to be that high up. It serves no purpose being that high. Hung up-side-down, or slipping from it's sheath the knife has all that travel before the strap stops it at the tang. If the strap was already AT the tang, the knife would not have to rely on being tight in its sheath for support, and it can safely be supported up-side-down.

A strap that high on any knife is stupid.

  • pretty knife...nice sheath

  • Mine broke in half. I use a becker now. 1999 next gen that is.

  • Mine broke in half. I use a becker now.

  • i really dont think it matters if it splits wood since its basically meant for combat purposes
