When i fought this boss my heart was pounding but the second i heard the Aether sound i was relieved

Im with WhiteKhakis. My Mist sucks. I just equip Ike with a bunch of Elixers and take her completely out of the equation. Seems to work pretty well that way. You just keep healing until you finally hit enough Aethers to kill that fool.

this part was a pain in the ass for me. and before you say anything i did max out ike and had mist at 17 level valkyrie, i had the staffs for mist but forgot to give her a sword grr

Dude, no offense, but you should have maxed out your Ike before coming to this battle. Also giving Mist a psychic staff would've been wise. Don't get me wrong, you won, but this could have EASILY turned out differently.

...and it did - just didn't upload those. I don't think Mist was high enough a level to use that staff, and I think I did max out the stat that Ike needed most - the one that boosts his critical hit percentage.

It worked out though, so I've no complaints.

all u have to do is sit her in front of a boss and heal the person being attacked by the boss that doesnt move, and pshycic only needs a c in this game so unless you totally didnt use mist she shouldve been able to use it, and if u dont make her a valkyrie the halberdier will kill her so a sleep staff also wouldve been smart

Yes, actually I did. I slayed the BK to somewhere darker than the inside of his armor, by using the skills Vantage, Resolve, and Miracle. Basically once Ike's Hp gets halved, he is near impossable to kill. Another good combonation is Adept, Vantage, and Miracle.

Would anyone say these games are worth, say, about $30 bucks? I'm a big Nintendo fan and I loved Ogre Battle 64 and Final Fantasy Tactics, but I've never touched a Fire Emblem game. This one seems appealing, and I'd like to play this one before I got the Wii one...

"These?". The newer Fire Emblem, I'd think that would be a good price new, but for the older one that may be a little expensive - unless it's rare for whatever reason.

It's probably a good idea to start with this one over the Wii title since the story element is such a big factor in these games.

Most of that is luck. Boosting your "Skill" can increase your chances for a stronger blow, however.

lol i beat him without aether and my hard mode mist actually kicked ass...she killed bryce in 1 hit...rune sword crit(lol) to beat ike without aether i used adept and wraith.

1st player: Ike hit BK hit

1st enemy: Bk Luna Ike crit

2nd player: Ike adept crit crit pwned

No mist needed...although she was a level 16 valkyrie

Mist sucks ass. Try using her on hard. She sucks up all you bonus exp and she dies in 1 hit from anything.

if you actually use her you can refrain from wasting bonus exp on her.... and I'm pretty sure the fact that you can increase a staffuser's level by 8 if you just waste ashera and fortify staves quickly.... not like you'd use em anyway right>?

I just didn't want to have Mist on my team, I focused on a few characters only. I made sure one of Ike's stats was maxed out, though. I think the one which allows for those special strikes.

did you use any Angelic Robes on Ike? what level was he? and by the DMG you dealed Ike had maxed str and if so probably had max spd and likely max skl (which is for aethur)

I don't know. The video shows Ike at lvl 18 and at 54 hp if that helps determine it at all.

i got so lucky...ike was lv 20 with me, and all his stats were maxed, and i went up to him first then waited so i could get the counterattack and he couldnt, and he missed, and i got the hit, then the next turn i attacked him and did aether..it was great

When Ike promotes, give him an occult skill

In the game you will get some skills named "Occult", that you can't give to certain units. That's because occult will teach only to PROMOTED units, and depending on the class, it will give one skill. (the skill is like brown with a sword in it) Now when Ike promotes to Lord, give him an occult skill and he will learn Aether, that appears randomly in battle. (And when it does, you know the enemy is to suffer)

There are 4 Occults in the game:

1) In a chest (top left) in chapter 13

2) Recruit Stefan (in the desert map with lots of Laguz) and then talk to him in the base.

3) Recruit Tauroneo on chapter 21

4) Defeat the boss of chapter 27

well since Ike needs one before he fights the night, only 3 are available for him because there is no base inbetween ariving in chapter 27 and fighting the BK. so the 4th occult scroll counts for all except Ike.

The Occult is always the scroll, just that you can't use it on non-promoted units, you can give it to any promoted unit in the base.

It's been a while, but I think you have to use one of those "occult scrolls" on a unit which has been promoted to a higher class. I think generals learn Luna...

i wanted to see mist fight.i couldve killed the black knight cuz my battle went the same way urs did.when the black knight only had 9 hp left i wanted to see mist own the priest so i moved ike.instead i gave them a chance to heal the black knight...i restarted twice(zihark got owned!)and then i was lucky.the black knight missed!every single atk he tried! no luna either. but this time i was smarter.i didnt let mist do anything i just focused on the black knight

i loved this fight for it's music, but hated how broken it was. i hated using ena, so i always had to keep restarting from the very begining if i couldn't beat him in time.

Honestly, all you need to do is get those lucky hits, she is only there to give you more opportunity to attack.

I beat the Black Knight in one turn. I moved up to him, ended the turn, and he attacked me. Aether activated, then I attack him on that turn, and aether activates AGAIN.

Ike won't if u're unlucky and the Black Knight unleashes "Luna" (Ignores half of the opponent's defence). If Ike maxed out his defence (max. is 24), Not even on normal you'll have enough HP to survive 2 Lunas in a row from the BK, I mean, he'll hit above the 30's, and the max is 60. Not even on easy you'll survive that.

I'm glad you put this up - I must have tried to kill him so many times, but the building always kept collapsing. I never managed to get Aether though, which is why.

Difference between me and you is that I had actually upgraded Mist into a Valkyrie, so she could defend herself. But I still never was able to win. Good job.

I didn't want to mess around with Mist; Rhys was good enough, and later Erk (I mean, Soren) was able to heal, too.

That didn't stop her from saying she could defend herself, though! Silly child...

I think this was my 5th try... You HAVE to get an Aether (or two) to beat him on time.

Otherwise those other guys will kill Mist and/or the building will collapse before you get the chance.
