With a little tweaking, this would actually be good enough to be canon in the Star Trek Universe. They never went into detail with what happened to the USS Exeter after she was declared "abandoned" and Captain Tracy was arrested. They just said she was towed back to a starbase and that's it.
Great set. If only the makers of the new movie would use a similar set. IMO, if you want to do a Trek movie based on the original series, it is so important to have the ship, sets, costumes, be as authentic to the original show as possible. Otherwise it does not feel like the original series to me.
The sets were disassembled after production and are currently store in the garages of various very gracious(but sometimes grumbling) individuals around Austin , TX.
You people do wonderful work and I hope there are more projects planned. It looks like you guys (and ladies) have a lot of fun on that show. You, New Voyages and Farragut all fulfill an important function in keeping Trek not just alive, but vital as well. Thanks again.
