The Revolutionary War was probably of much greater concern at that time, especially since most ppl thought that the war wouldn't last for very long bc they thought that politically motivated ppl would end the war before it got very far! Military commanders/generals, however, predicted the defeat of the south before the Civil War started, from the point of view of "If the Civil War becomes a reality"!
