  • If you get streaks, is there any way to get rid of them?

  • What color ink did you use for the silver?

  • Hi! I want to make these with my art class, they look great! Can you tell me specifically what you used (esp. the ink) and where to get it ? It would be much appreciated! :)

  • Awesome that look cool pretty creative I totally love it =)

  • do u use just black ink or different colors?

  • do u know if any of this can be bought at walmart?

  • What type of ink and do u have to let the ink dry?!? Please answer!!!!!

  • @kisses0114 Stampin' Up! Classic Ink (water-based ink). You need to add the glitter before the ink dries - otherwise it won't adhere to anything. Good luck!

  • i love this i am going to do this for christmas

  • What type of ink did you use for this?

  • @lilmils Stampin' Up! Classic Ink (water-based ink). Good luck!

  • YEAH BUDDY

  • I used rubber gloves much better. No messy hands :)

  • I guess was for a darker color... Love that idea

  • Wondering why you chose ink. Would it be possible to use glue or water instead?

  • @Yoleon89 Glitter won't adhere and stay in place with plain water, and glue is too thick to coat it quickly. (Plus it could dry cloudy and uneven.) Good luck!

  • great video!!

  • i like the idea but i think i am going to try it with gold glitter paint...

  • For almost 10$ for that ink? No thanks. Are there any economical ways of doing this besides using Pledge with Future shine where it is nowhere to be found?

  • were can you get the bulb thing shape if your not in the usa

  • DO YOU HAVE TO USE THAT INK THINGY

  • 2:02! I HEARD A KITTY! xD

  • thanks so much! :)

  • Can you use food coloring and regular glitter???

  • @melloblue12 Good question. I haven't tried it with food coloring. I guess it depends on the thickness of the food coloring and whether the glitter will stick to it. I'm not sure how it will dry, but you can always try. Good luck!

  • did the top come on the bulb or did you buy it??

  • @melloblue12 The top of the bulb came with the bulb. It's just the standard top.

  • WHere can i buy glass ornaments?

  • @TheLegend1245 Any craft store should have them, like Michael's or Joann Fabric.

  • How did you etch the letters on the ornaments you show at the beginning?

  • @whatsnawfix They are rub-ons. If you need more info on where to find them, let me know. Thanks!

  • @cheeringhername i would like to know more on the rub-ons if you don't mind sharing. thank you!

  • @hopethomas2 Rub ons are kind of like stickers, but you use a hard surface (like a wooden stick) to tack them down. We sell them through Stampin' Up!'s website, and we have some holiday ones that look great on the finished bulbs.

  • @cheeringhername Yeah, where would you find something like that? Sorry, I'm not a very "crafty" person, and I'm wanting to make my girlfriend a special homemade ornament this year.

  • @whatsnawfix Were you able to find more info on the rub ons? I wasn't able to post any comments for a while.

  • @cheeringhername No, I haven't looked much, but don't know really what I am looking for. I assume I can find them at some craft store like Michaels?

  • @whatsnawfix Rub ons are kind of like stickers, but you use a hard surface (like a wooden stick) to tack them down. A craft store probably has them, though I haven't looked for them there. Stampin' Up! sells them online, but I'm not allowed to post web addresses in the reply section. Type in: stampinup (dot) com, then STORE, then EMBELLISHMENTS, then RUB-ONS. There are also some holiday ones in CLEARANCE RACK called Word Flurries. Good luck!

  • thank you

  • do you need to let the re-inker dry before adding the glitter? Great ornaments!

  • @CAP953 Nope, you add the glitter immediately after you get the ink to cover the inside of the ornament. Then once you shake up the glitter, pour out the excess glitter. Easy!

  • that looks great!! what kind of ink did you use??

  • @Kathykat216 I used classic ink from Stampin' Up! If you need more info, let me know. Good luck!

  • wow this really work thanks im making it for my classroom christmas tree

  • thanks for potsing this I'm going to try this,

    this week,...:}

  • Is this permanent? I mean does the ink stick to the glass permanent or if you open the clip does the ink flow out again? Waterproof?

How did you get "Merry Christmas" on the bulbs?

    THANKS!!

  • The glitter inside helps make the ink stick to the inside of the glass permanently, so it won't all run out. And since all of the ink is on the inside, it is pretty much waterproof. The words are actually rub-ons that Stampin' Up! sells, and those go on the outside of the ornament. Good luck with your project!

  • Thanks for explanation!

  • this is great!!! thanks for taking the time out to make this video. Im going to try it

  • Does the glitter powder go in the bulb right after the bulb in coated with the ink?

  • Yes. Without the glitter being applied shortly after you've added the ink, you risk having the ink dry in splotches or streaks and possibly pool in the bottom of the bulb. Good luck with your project!

  • That is brilliant!

How much should I worry about the actual color of the ink? I mean, if I wanted to make a white ball I really ought to use a light ink, right? But if I were going to make a couple of green balls and a couple of red balls, then a nice, neutral ink would be OK, right? Does it matter?

I can't wait to try this! I've been eyeing those clear balls in Joann Fabrics for ages but the internal conversation has always ended with "Margot, what'll you do with those, fergodsake?"

  • There are two approaches that I prefer: 1. Match the ink to the color of the glitter, as I find that it tends to enhance the desired color, and 2. Use a gold or silver with a different ink to make the ornament really pop with color. The sky's the limit for combinations, though, and it's fun to experiment with different color combos. Good luck with your project!

  • wait can u use glue insteadof ink???

  • You can, but glue is much thicker than ink and will take a lot longer to coat the ornament.

  • o.k thank you where can you get the ink??\

  • and one last thing (hopfully) i am not a very patient person so can you water down the glue to make it thinner and then put it in the ornament or will that ruin the look??

  • I'm not sure about watering down the ink. I theorize that it would thin it out to make it cover faster, but you could be left with gaps in the adherence of the glitter. Using a reinker is much faster than glue and then there is no issue with coverage. Good luck with your project!

  • thank you!

  • This is great. For the comment on Elmers, what is that, do you mean glue? I love this video. I am subscribing!

  • pretty. I made these the other night but without the reinker I just used elmers.

  • I love them! Thanks for sharing....I tried them and they came out great. A little messy, but so well worth it.

  • awesome...beats those bulbs that are glittered on the outside-i hate those!

    thanks!!
