I get what you're saying, but fact is that Elvira wasn't exactly the original. In the '60's there was a lady by the name of Vampira, who was a horror movie host. Elvira pretty much based her persona on, but added her own twist of course, including the valley girl accent. Vampira actually tried to sue Elvira for "stealing" her image and routine but lost. It shouldn't be a problem passing the torch to a new, younger one, as long as she has a different name.
