@amcdaniel97 Not really hax. Yes, he did use a rom, and a rom code, But the interesting aspect of this, is that the ROM uses ACTUAL files from the game itself, and makes it work on the computer. Not really a HACK, more of a WHAT IF type of thing. If you did this on a real game boy cartridge, this would be the exact reasult. Shocking, isn't it?

The actual type is Flying, but for some reason Missingno. is type Bird. Bird may have been a previous name the translators scrapped before release... who knows?

Missingno. can also generate a type that is the name of a trainer (e.g. it can have "Cooltrainer" as a type if I remember correctly). It's possible that Bird is actually just part of the trainer name "Bird Keeper" or whatever it is.

some glitches can horribly destroy all of your data while others are perfectly harmless. it varies from game to game, and from what your user id and name are, and what you name your rival. it is all a simple program. SamuraiGunSanji is correct as well; it is a hexic code glitch. there is nothing more to it.

its a glitch that the makers put in so that u can cheat ;) if u use the old man/cinnabar island/surf cheat, then u can have unlimited items and money! additionally, missingno is just that, a programmed code that has no number. yes little dude is right, u cant save any data, or keep any, if u catch missingno. m' is another glitch that has the same base code to it. dont catch either my friends ;)

Seems to be an earlier game, messed up *by* a Missingno ('M) and restarted via the New Game option. The save data messed up the starting Pokémon. It could happen that way.

You don't need to use a gameshark to get missingno. Talk to the old guy in viridian city then fly to cinibar and surf by the gym. Missingno should appear. I don't remember what number your item needs to be, but it will duplicate items like Master Balls and Rare Candies.
