Cam had no INTs, he didnt look like a bust from the Preseason game, 8/19 about 150 yeards passing. he did great considering it was his first NFL game ever.

Compared to the video of Clausens performance at FanFest I can see why Newton currently resides at #2 on the roster. Alot of folks have made mention that Clausen goes to the checkdown receiver to often, well folks thats called decision making, thats why the checkdown is there. Better to throw the short safe pass than force a bad pass downfield. That said, Cams ability to throw deep and his athleticism are HUGE upsides, he just needs work on his reads/decisions and short to intermediate accuracy

It's already clear to me that he's going to have to learn to sell those fake handoffs better and also learn to stop staring down receivers. I'm also concerned about how "thin" Newton's legs are compared to say Peyton Manning and Philip Rivers. Tom Brady has a thinner frame too, and look what happened to him a couple of years ago. Thicker legged QBs seem to have less leg injuries than those with legs as thin as Cam, which is another reason I preferred Andrew Luck. I doubt Cam's durability.

i am not a newton fan personally but i think he will have a good career. i hate when people try to compare him to jamarcus russel. newton is much greater athlete and hard worker. i don't know if he will ever make the pro bowl or win a superbowl but i think he will be a quality quarterback if he learns the system.

Lol trent difler, kiper, mcshay, etc.. said freeman would be a bust. Now 2 years later. He is 3x better than sanchez, and I would still take him over a healthy stafford anytime. Compared to the video of Clausens performance at FanFest I can see why Newton currently resides at #2 on the roster. Alot of folks have made mention that Clausen goes to the checkdown receiver to often, well folks thats called decision making, thats why the checkdown is there. Better to throw the short safe pass than force a bad pass downfield. That said, Cams ability to throw deep and his athleticism are HUGE upsides, he just needs work on his reads/decisions and short to intermediate accuracy

I'm stoked for Cam he looks like he's developing pretty well considering the situation teams are in because of the lockout. He has the arm Jimmy will never have. You can tell Jimmy is afraid to stretch the field hence all of the check downs.

It's already clear to me that he's going to have to learn to sell those fake handoffs better and also learn to stop staring down receivers. I'm also concerned about how "thin" Newton's legs are compared to say Peyton Manning and Philip Rivers. Tom Brady has a thinner frame too, and look what happened to him a couple of years ago. Thicker legged QBs seem to have less leg injuries than those with legs as thin as Cam, which is another reason I preferred Andrew Luck. I doubt Cam's durability.

Anyone with eyes can see that Newton is more top heavy, and if you think you need to see someone "in person" to see that, then you're an idiot. Look at him in pads. Whether or not you disagree is irrelevant, you can't disprove it. If Cam Newton doesn't learn to speed up, he'll be sidelined pretty soon.
