What's interesting is that this is technically the predecessor to motion comics. Think about it. The way that the original stories are taken word for word, panel for panel excluding speech bubbles. The way the characters are animated, but only ever so slightly as to give the impression of movement but still maintain the aesthetic of the comic. Marvel pays attention to its earlier media as much as DC does, 'nuff said.
The Fantastic Four were licensed to Hanna Barbara at the time. Very strange they decided to adapt FF stories when they didn't have the rights to them.
Love that this is basically a blend of Fantastic Four annual #3 and FF #6, except without any appearance or mention of the FF. Did another production company hold the TV rights at the time? Also: Nice use of the X-Men without calling them the X-Men.
this was the first animated appearance of the original x-men. too bad there wasn't an actual animated series back tehn, based on the original comics, it would have been interesting with the oldschool animation..
