on vista you go to recording select stereo mix as your default player in rec box, if you dont see stereo mix there right click white ares at bottom of rec box and select show hidden/disabled devices!...incidebtly both this way on win7 and vista and unticking mike on the mute on vol cont on xp will also enable you to talk/sing as well!

window vista doesnt have that stereo mix but if you have window xp and its help co'z that's what im doing right now.. enjoy
