overlooked. Too bad Smile! was not released until 2004.

I've always thought they could have done without the double timed section that runs from 0:50 to 0:57. At the one part where they start slowing down they should have just jumped to the "boooooy....POOF!" coda.

Man, they used so many Smile outtakes on these albums. From Smiley Smile to Surf's Up, Friends is the only album to NOT end with a Smile outtake, I believe.

Yep, you're dead right, smiley66goodvibes67. This was a direct steal from Brian's magnificent work from the Smile sessions. The Boys did an awful, warped. twisted version of Brian's orginal far-superior music on this piece, out of sheer desperation for album filler, at this, the end of their (thank god) Capitol Records period in their history as a band.

Still, I always liked vocal practicing with this arrangement. In 1993, they did this in Charlotte as part of their accoustic set. I later that night thanked Al for doing it, and he didn't remember what the title was . But Carl did.

" a direct STEAL " He sings on it !!! How is that a 'steal" ? There are MANY sections of Brian's songs which he uses in other songs. Includes ' Midnight's Another Day" beauty.
