Im sure its not as bad if you know how to play from experiece, but as for me i just wanna play ff without this. if i want to play sports, i would just pick up madden

It would be great if they knew how to create a sports game. The team you have sucks and the controls are crap and the positions are random and its pretty much not fun the way it is.
i really dont like blitzball. the tutorial gives you information on how to calculate you shots, only to find that it is randomized. so...then whats the point of using math to determine your shots? i think it could be much improved but, for some reason, it is really addictive game, and the victories are satisfying. great game, but confusing at times.

@Tamashii95 It's hard in the beginning, you should start recruiting 1/3 of the storyline through, then try again. I tend to go for the fastest swimmers, mob everyone, pass the ball to the guy closest to the goal and score. You should look for a swimmer w/ 10pts higher in SPD than any of your opponents for this to work. It gets easy and fun after a while
Ah, Blitzball. I loved this part of the game. I'd often keep playing the storyline match against the Goers to lead by a point or two. From there, I just played loads for fun. It was fun to swim out to the middle of the field with Tidus and use Sphere Shot for an easy goal or swim right up to the goal and use Jecht Shot for fun. The Goers broke my record of the opposing team having no goals after a few tens of matches by getting a single point. XD
@Imananimegod I don't hate Blitzball. It just massively pissed me off that this was supposed to be your introductory game into Blitzball and they made it almost impossible to win.
man i remember when i had this game i had the sickest team, tidus would get 5 goals every game, all my players were level 70+, i signed the best free agents i was just soo good at it, i miss it though :( they should make an entire game based on this

Nice so far my record is 16-0 vs the ronso fangs cause of a buzzer shot lol overall i played blitzball 80% of the time and did story stuff when i ran out of Gil for contracts
it is possible to get up to 20 goals (10 each half) against a team like the Ronso Fangs (with a bit of luck like if your opponent don't do stupid things and waste the timer). Once the opponents reach a certain level, it becomes harder to rake up high scores, this is when I decided to finish off and grab the sigil to retire for good.
There is something wrong with my game. I saw a tournament and it's 1st place prize was aurochs spirit. I came in 1st place and I won but it says no besaid aurochs player can learn this ability! I then saw it again and the same message appeared. I also have this problem with Jecht Shot 2. Why is this happening?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?. I heard those two techniques are really good but I can't get it!
@billybob5201996 to get jecht shot 2 you need to have all of tidus's key techiques and to get aurochs spirit I think you need wakka on your team because that is an ability that he can only learn.

It's like Squall7766 said. It's only the first game that they make extremely difficult. Any game after the first just continues to get easier and easier till it gets to the point where it's not challenge at all and you could shoot from half court and still make a bunch of goals.
I've had times where i had scores of 0-15. I would just keep stealing the ball from the computer right on blitzoff and shoot from midcourt.
Botta is by far the shittiest,most worthless fucking blitzer i have EVER fucking seen in the ENTIRE fucking game. Oohhhhhhh yes and BELIEVE ME,I've played my fair share of blitzball games. About 80+
Mother fucker is level 30 and his stats are that of a fucking level 5. Complete loser. He has like 8 fucking endurance at level 30 and 11 attack. Pass is 11 and shoot is under 8. I repeat. Fucking worthless. Everyone else runs circles around him. Enemy and ally alike. Yes,even keepa owns Botta....

The other Auroch that stands out is letty. His pass is just fucking INSANE. Its like 60 at level 43. Jassu and is just average. Mediocre. Not bad,but not good either. Passable.
@midfire8 I felt the exact same way the first time i played blitzball. The first game that they stick you in they make your stats REALLY shitty compared to the computer. Even tidus is a weakling when compared to all the other enemies stats.
I remember it was a nightmare to beat the al bhed because their goalie had a little more CA then tidus had SH. So just to make one goal with tidus against the Al bhed i would normally have to shoot like 3 times. Just to make one stupid goal.
i kept the original aurochs including Wakka to get the ultimate shot Aurochs Spirit which combines the whole original teams Sh into wakkas, can make a shot from your goal when your high enough in level.

My fav team is wakka - datto - letty - jassu - botta - keepa. i like to keep the original team... besides when u get wakka's best shot (something around lvl 20) u can shoot over 80 :D still the best team ever is tidus/larbeight - nedus/isken - brother/vuroja - ropp - balgerda/kulukan - nimrook
Yeah, he is. I almost lost in a league match when he had signed up with the Kilika Beasts. Luckily his contract with them expired after two matches I played against them, and they didn't renew it! So I rushed up to the airship and signed him up to my team! XD
vilucha or larbeight, keep tidus because he is an excellent shooter, brother is very fast, naida is a good in defense, and nimrook is propably the best goalie in the game.
I'm undefeated after 17 matches. It's not much but all of my players have made it to double digit levels and I seem to dominate every game (except against the Psychs, I end up winning 2-1 usually due to their excellent goalie). I still have all the original players but if I were to get rid of any the first I would get rid of would be Datto then Botta. Datto is only good for shooting early on, unless you level him up a lot. Botta has bad PA and bad EN So he's bad in certain situations.
What happens to me is, Botta takes the ball away but everyone on the opposing team is around my goal and they swarm around Botta before I can pass it away and Botta can't pass through them or get past their tackles and they get the ball back...How could you beat the Psyches 7-0...If you have the sphere shot so high then you've obviously been playing a while cuz currently I have Tidus' regular shooting at like 26 and I only get it to around 45
instead of botta use brother train brother as ur mid field tidus as left front field datto as ur right front kiyuri as ur left rear nethel (i think thats how u spell his name) and wedge as your golie brother nethel and datto have godly speed and stats tidus is godly on offense and kiyuri can pass (she gets like 90 in pass)wedge is a good goalie make sure everyone has weather tackle 3 this way you screw people stats up and they never make goals and keep ALOT of money on you
on my last playthrough i managed to beat them on the game walkthrough. its not expected to beat them but at this time i beat them. im too lazy to do the math for the blitzball game, but i would like to get wakka's other overdrives this time!
Before landing on Luca for the first time in the game, with Tidus you have a mini game on the boat when he shoots the ball. You Need to erase a maximum of his memorize about Jecht.
No it is not too late. He can learn the Jecht Shot when he gets the Air ship.You just fly to Luca and take the boat from there to Kilika when you are on the boat just press X on the ball and you can learn it again.
Lolz, I got lucky with the Jupiter Sigil - it was the very first prize after I got the Celestial Mirror. Apparently it takes a lot of other people way longer than that, because everyone says it can take like 20 games to 200 games. Hahaha.

i kept the original aurochs including Wakka to get the ultimate shot Aurochs Spirit which combines the whole original teams Sh into wakkas, can make a shot from your goal when your high enough in level.

the more you use a player the more exp he gets.. if you don't pass or shoot with a player he won't grow at all

thanks a lot for this guide. Brother is really an insane player, he grows so fast in which he's now at the mid of 40, but the rest of the players didn't get past lvl 20 yet.
I have ropp in the back court where he'd played 20+ games already but still at lvl 9, coz the opposing team never have a chance getting past mid court

My fav team is wakka - datto - letty - jassu - botta - keepa. i like to keep the original team... besides when u get wakka's best shot (something around lvl 20) u can shoot over 80 :D still the best team ever is tidus/larbeight - nedus/isken - brother/vuroja - ropp - balgerda/kulukan - nimrook

Yeah, he is. I almost lost in a league match when he had signed up with the Kilika Beasts. Luckily his contract with them expired after two matches I played against them, and they didn't renew it! So I rushed up to the airship and signed him up to my team! XD

Hrm... I've done quite well with Lv13 Tidus (w/Jecht and Sphere Shot), Lv13 Blappa, Lv14 Letty (MF), Lv8 Jassu (LD), Lv10 Kyou (RD), and Lv8 Miyu (Goalie).
I only need the Jupiter Sigil and Wakka's last two Reels.

vilucha or larbeight, keep tidus because he is an excellent shooter, brother is very fast, naida is a good in defense, and nimrook is propably the best goalie in the game.

I'm undefeated after 17 matches. It's not much but all of my players have made it to double digit levels and I seem to dominate every game (except against the Psychs, I end up winning 2-1 usually due to their excellent goalie). I still have all the original players but if I were to get rid of any the first I would get rid of would be Datto then Botta. Datto is only good for shooting early on, unless you level him up a lot. Botta has bad PA and bad EN So he's bad in certain situations.

What happens to me is, Botta takes the ball away but everyone on the opposing team is around my goal and they swarm around Botta before I can pass it away and Botta can't pass through them or get past their tackles and they get the ball back...How could you beat the Psyches 7-0...If you have the sphere shot so high then you've obviously been playing a while cuz currently I have Tidus' regular shooting at like 26 and I only get it to around 45

instead of botta use brother train brother as ur mid field tidus as left front field datto as ur right front kiyuri as ur left rear nethel (i think thats how u spell his name) and wedge as your golie brother nethel and datto have godly speed and stats tidus is godly on offense and kiyuri can pass (she gets like 90 in pass)wedge is a good goalie make sure everyone has weather tackle 3 this way you screw people stats up and they never make goals and keep ALOT of money on you

Before landing on Luca for the first time in the game, with Tidus you have a mini game on the boat when he shoots the ball. You Need to erase a maximum of his memorize about Jecht.

It's Optional to finish the ordeal ( like Besaid Temple ), but you need to open the Treasure Chest for the optional quest at the game of game.

No it is not too late. He can learn the Jecht Shot when he gets the Air ship.You just fly to Luca and take the boat from there to Kilika when you are on the boat just press X on the ball and you can learn it again.

Lolz, I got lucky with the Jupiter Sigil - it was the very first prize after I got the Celestial Mirror. Apparently it takes a lot of other people way longer than that, because everyone says it can take like 20 games to 200 games. Hahaha.
