ABBA's early songs reflect the stage. The lyrics are direct, communicative. Their later stuff is studio oriented. Benny and Bjorn became observers. They wrote about people rather than to people. The energy of the early years went into content.
@FFridalicious. . .you could be right of course for all I knew, but my friends and I even talked with them about the Eurovision Song Contest and we wished them Good Luck. And boy, oh boy, didn't they hit the jackpot, Big Time, eh????
In 1974 we went to see our friend off at Heathrow Airport, West London. At the time public could go on the roof to wave to passengers embarking below. Afterwards we went below and saw some passengers from Sweden etc entering the arrival lounge. And amongst them ABBA for Eurovision song Contest in Brighton, they were unknown them but I remember Agnetha clearly with her blond curls, very beautiful girl....
@macvatu If you saw the girl with blond curls at that time, you actually saw Frida. :D She had curly blond (highligted) hair at the time. Agnetha had straight blonde hair.
Mira, I've been following ABBA since I discovered them back in 1975 when I was 8.
The first song I heard was S.O.S at a friend's party and I felt instantly in love with ABBA and here I am still loving them as if they just arrived but this is the very first time watching this video. Thank you so much for this. How fantastic it is to be finding people that I have never known making my day.
@hylloveabba4ever Hi! Greetings from Rio de Janeiro! Yeah! I agree with you but if I am not mistaken, ABBA became very sophisticated from 1977 on.
But we have to admit that they did it very well because people still remind those funny ABBA's costumes all the time (LOL). I guess that they get burst of laughther when they see those funny costumes they wore back in 1970.
So this is the missing song from the six performed on French Top Club in Oct. 1978. Thank you for sharing this extremely rare clip, Mira! I feel glad I stay up this late.
