when I first played final fantasy 8 for me Squall was the most important character so I focused on him I defeated ultimecia buy using only Squall for some reason I was very lucky because whenever I use Squall's limit break it always uses LionHearts I defeated Ultimecia in 4 or 5 rounds?

@Wade23581 There are Elemental Absorbtions in the GBA Version and yeah Forsaken takes you down to 1 hp so it is a hard hitter, I have never seen Kefka use Ultima so maybe I do defeat him to fast, I max out everything before I beat any Final Fantasy, Only boss I know that uses Ultima that I remembered was the boss at the top of the Tower(can't remember its name) where all magic is disabled and he only casts it when he dies.

Never played this one before.

Hate limit breakers and similar crap like that, makes the game pointless. "My guy does 20 free attacks in a row, woopity doo."

Clearly, the equipment and combat system are broken if you absorb the final bosses elemental attacks, and it's physical attack does only 1% of your life in damage.

That must be the easiest FF boss ever.

At least Kefka still does several 1000's damage if he hits you with Havok Wing.

@Wade23581 I only played FF8 and FF9. Don't forget I play with a perfect team. I think any FF is broken once you attain max stats (which is done here by using Chocobo World). But yeah, FF8's Junction System can be broken easily.

@Wade23581 The final boss is so easy in the eight, but in the nine and in the ten too. If you prepare your fight you won't have any difficulties against the final boss in these three final fantasy. But the ultimate boss in the eight, Omega Weapon, is strongest than Der Richter or Ozma (I think)

@Wade23581 There is gear in ff6 that you can use to absorb elemental Damage as well Kefka hits my party at a max of 500 physical damage his spells miss or do 40 to 50 damage

The Elemental "-Agas" can miss. Ultima and Forsaken cannot miss.

Yes, there is a lot of elemental absorb in FF6, but at least Kefka has 2 non-absorbable mass damage spells.

Only thing stops Ultima is Celes' Runic, although "Shell" status cuts Ultima damage in half.

And yes, it's easy to have perfect evade and magic evade on several characters by the time you reach Kefka.

I doubt 50 dmg is true though, unless you're so overleveled you never see Ultima or Forsaken...

@Wade23581 if they balanced the final bosses of the stories around that kind of standard no one would ever beat the game, use your head this isnt some quick run through rofl,

hes using perfect stats and ultimate weapons and armor you wont find one game with a final boss that wont get shit on with a party like this.

the boss is actually pretty epic if you just casually play though the story line, my only knock on FF8 is its garbage magic system.

What happens AFTER the fight?

Do you just watch the end and credits, then do basically nothing, or is there supposed to be a save screen or something after it?

I beat Ultimecia for the first time, and watched the ending/credits, then had to just leave the game running and turned it back on the next day to see a plain, black screen! I heard that Seifer joins the team after you beat the game, but nothing happened and now I'm back at the Castles Master Room! Dx

@Jinzokk Nothing happens after the "The End" screen. No such thing as a "New Game+" in FF8 and Seifer can't join the party after Dollet mission (except if you use a GameShark device).

I love the idea of playing MGS music in a Final Fantasy VIII video. Fits perfectly with the military type atmosphere that FFVIII produced, with SeeD and all. "The Landing" was a great example of that also.

I liked this game. But the leveling up system was far too easy.

The debug room was a good laugh though, not sure if it was available on the French release.

@Clutch3Ball All enemies' stats are relative to your level so it's the same challenge either way.

@ARAGORN41 It's true that enemies grow stronger as you level up. But it's not the same challenge. You can also win battles by carding opponents, petrifying them or devouring them. This will result in giving you AP for abilities, but no EXP. Any other way of defeating them gives you EXP. Bosses never give EXP.

The challenge is to raise stats only by junctioning magic. That way your characters grow stronger while your enemies/bosses stay the same level as your initial level (Level 7 for Squall).

@yukido42 Kamikaze, Eden's Eternal Breath, Boko's ChocoBocle, Quistis' Shockwave Pulsar and Cactuar's 1,000 Needles can break the 9999 cap.

Woah this gave me a bit of a shock the colours are so beautiful, I just completed the game exactly 15 days ago ( a game this good deserves its completion date memorized).
